:(Sadly due to the situation I find myself in, IBMshow on the skids for the moment, I must part with a mint CD version of Lotus Notes EXPRESS, CLIENT EDITION FOR OS/2 WARP ONLY. This install comes on a MINT,  unused CD distro in original jacket with the Install Booklet. Correction: is actually now in 'NEAR' mint as I have taken the CD from its card/sleeve and examined same. Lookin perfect. A SCSI hard drive w/ cable is included in the deal.

In addition to this item I am including a PCDOS7 "User's Guide"-Manual from IBM which a  FIRST ED. COPYRIGHT IN 1995, by IBM. A great chapter in this Guide, for serious reading, is that on installing the OS. I have the OS in a separate sealed pkg should anyone out in the virtual world need it. Email me regarding that product as these days it is hard to find it MINT.

Shipping is within the US lower 57 States, as antiquesforgeeks will not ship overseas; also please note all, anyone with a driver install disk for NWPA AIC78U2.HAM family or ADAPTEC EZSCSI diskette ver 4.0x can get a 30% discount upon receipt of same with payment of 5USD...if you are not claiming the discount becuase you cannot help with the efforts here to boot the M20 at this request, the price is: $7.50inc S&H, Furthermore: I have an original cello wrapped OS/2 Ver3 in case anyone is interested with which I will throw in some nice alkeline batteries and an everReady charger for fun as batteries are usually not included with OS/2. Price on the new version of OS/2 ver 3 sealed is negotiable.

any ad is a bit risky but if you get stuck by it its your own fault, not the impression made, say Serenity were to buy five smart for 8's and had them streched just a bit more so that the wraps read "E" on the first one in a blitz of colour, "C" on the second, "S" on the third  "version" on the fourth, and on the last limo a picture of a dog or something like the taco dog or maybe just my cat M.R. Poopsie...{with the numeric 2.o foreground image over his image as a background for the "2.o} worped yes but if you say to someone, what I saw was, they would first laugh and then back away, get in their car and go on looking for the entourage suspending all disbelief. saw this i Tejas once but I am not sure really if the cars were strecthed enough to make a lasting impression:)

SO sorry BEN, Can't find any pix yet of the s_t_R_e_c_t_C_h_e_d version of the French aircar on Utube, will keep lookin though; the co ceo says they [MDI] do have a van prototype that looks very cheesey, it appears now in showrooms looking better in the videos, there are other van protos supposedly being developed in AU and in Europe, go to aircar.com, this one, shown below just a pre proto sketch but I like the concept, if its got alot of metal and not much fibreglas or plastic I can strecth it...just give me a torch

Development / somewhere out there
« on: 2008.08.18, 20:51:58 »
somewhere out there it must be said a new open sourced kernel study group needs to be organized for the undertaking of finding the feasibility factor and to clear the way for the open standard for the OS/2 kernel, as this must be done to ensure that OS/2 becomes a universal OS rather than a commercially guarded one, which would make it extinct...for sure! Therefore I elect KIM to head a committee to find out what the snags really are in that vein, and exactly what are the legal issues extolled by IBM, MS, Symantec and others that are so deeply opposed to this idea of reviving OS/2 as opposed to Linux and what would the political and legal fallout be; esp for IBM. Not enough pressure is being put on IBM, I know they want to go the way of big business and have gotten out of the PC marketplace for the most part. As well they have great plans for Tech campi the world over, these are noble causes, and I understand the basic culture of said company(s). I for one am opposed however, to letting go the caldron, we need to strengthen our ranks and move forward but this cannot be done by lamenting the faults of MS or the promises gilded in features offered once upon a time by OS/2. Interest on a broader level could be generated if the picture became clear and the aims campaigned for were truly appearant, what do we have to lose but our sanity? Of course commercialism plays a role even in the distros on the other side but on the dark side we have a point and click society that does not even know really what a dos command does much less what a command line can be used for, what a mess, we have nations around the globe that are full of people preoccupied by visual images that are hollow on the face of them yet controlling on their obverse, what we are talkin here is the future of a world society monitored by corporations and controlled by them as opposed to seeking a destiny manifest by something more known about than the latest election soundbite...you are being monitored everytime you use an MS update, who gave them permission to seek and destroy your very conciousness? YOU DID.

Howdy All...hacker be gone for now anyway [as I tried to post earlier today as a new entry for 8-18-08]

Yesterday, [SUN 08.17.2008] three years after conception and two years to the day, after IBMshow launch, the IBMshow trailer was/has been decomissoned, sold to a bounty hunter for his harley hog, therefore, the main server was first offloaded before the appointed hour for pickup/reassignment of the title et al of the trailer...
while the server remained in situ inside its six-foot high protective anvil case it sat under a tree to protect it from direct sunlight and evil global warming rays as we did the deal-just before the guy [a happy new trailer owner, obviously] left our house with the trialer in tow, he stepped into that shade, curiously, to get a closer look at the system 8662 and said, "hey, thats a nice entertainment center your have there..." my response was mute,

so I am still looking for a "sixth" 10000 rpm IBM scsi hdd with a backplane interface on an M20 which was stolen or "misplaced" off of the backplane array during a show ( ( in case anyone out there has one for the 'return of IBMshow. version APPRENTICE STEALTH' in tow by a much larger rig hopefully) ).

In return for any help you can provide I will give appropriate credit to whomever on the website and a free OS/2 gift!!!

...also looking for a scsi interface cable runs from back panel to the scsi interface card, this SCSI daughter card has three SCSI I/O ports for the System 8662, as we were rolling the monster out it got a little banged up on the back i/o panel, Thank you. MZ 'tis here: :'(

I read and was told about those limitations in the HPFS and OS relationship with HD sizes and reading big drives, so would the work around be an OS/2 program that could use virtual partitions on the fly, controling the BIOS? and I quote:  "IBM is bringing a Journaled File System (JFS) to the next version of OS/2 Warp Server, code
named Aurora" end.quote, but this was done for speed and access times not so much for disk size as there is no solution when only one partition is used, one partition computing is stupid. just plain...well that. Blade server arrays hold terrabytes of enterprize based data strorage hence huge data streams/access, not for the home or even SOHO user especially when the SOHOs dont do alot of big scale networking and even small to mid sized corps buy up  and use tensX 10GB thumb drives and swap same betwn cubicles routinely...after all since there are typically so many Corp_SysOPs AATW who wants to bother them anyway for more diak space...MZ all smileys

dont want to get too deep ::) here or renegade this thread, but I will take a shot even as I am no code warrior ;D  and I may add...after a somewhat breif perusal-too bad really microsoft just dozint get out of the hardware business ala cart. I know they could do it and they now build and plan to market their own smart chipped mobos; why? You tell me! Bubble memory was squelched by MS in the mid 80's as it would have resulted in a totally different standard to build upon, not xX86. We wouldnt be talking MS free PC vs . [and/or] openSOURCE "anything" .../as the opposion would be MS A_NON...)and all their registry crap(...they would like nothing better than to control the hardware AND software market direction which I beleive MS is attempting to do and which BTW is why IBM is spending buku on the LINUX connection with their large- servers dev,  et al. Its not that Balmers image turned upside down makes a pretty good, err bad um likeness to BEEZEL_BUB, its that NTFS still has so much control itself over what goes on consequently with your computer when you insta VISTA/XP? MS is not trying to get rid of the 8/16 bit architecture or even DOS completely, not really, they just dont want people seeing the console button, hence learning what you can do to a network over a command line hack session)dont get me started on XP installs though why do they warn you not to use NTFS if installing "OTHER" Oses on the same machine...me, I am in favor of a multi boot platform VM loader on every machine,  as a universalist :-*,  dont want to step on anyones toes... :'(  furthermore, before I go completely 'planet Z'- I would personally like to thank Rob for his posts and insight therein/therupon, I liked the part of one of your post as: i.e., your reference to NeoN [no longer...or?] for OS/2-NEVER HEARD of it so I did some searching, and found "[NeoN] can construct 3D objects by combining simple shapes, or by extruding or spinning 2D curves..." reminds one of AutoCAD v10 or IGDS

BRAVO! :-* W/O people like you as key+ "idea_men" Ooops: ideapersons, companies would not have niches (pro. " NEECHE " ops ) in any marketplace and therefore be forced out by their own competitor's efforts, i.e.,those  that prove more creative and as a result more lucrative, that is the Amerikin way, excepting of course, MS, which historically strong arms the comps in one way or another-beating them into submission and ultimate extinction  via Bill's serrogate DELPHI BUEREAU ..MZ

All of my O2 is already bottled ready for uploading to the AIR CAR stretch limo I am planning to build, so global catastrophes, bring em on! The new IBMSHOW Internationale Apprentice line up for OS/2 trailer should be three axles and have plenty of lighting on board for video! So as you see I plan to be on the winning side, poor MS.

THE sound of it RINGS TRUE, if its trully Blue, TRUE BLUE, that is ...so when you are MS free does that mean you are finally cured?

I have no ans. here, great ques? BWG. I am right in the middle destroY'g a SATA HD on a mobil rack using Vector Linux so I can demount a windows partition/create a new HPFS one/making it active using fdisk-aiming at getting an AT&T data card [pcmcia modem] working with a freash Warp4 install, biting my tounge, while doing an ECs upgrade, then trying a wireless phone, AT&T USBConnect 881 or? If USB works why not try a data card first as suggested? Fat chance  ???

As long as it has wheels, SAB, I am no longer big on S.L.E.D.S, due to all of the ice sheets "melting" with the green house gases, and the, err effects of Global conforming...someday air will become an illegal commodity traded only on the 'dark side of the moon'

please note:

Norloff's site[credited on the splash down of the "warped gallery"] is one I really used often, OUaT, way before the blog0spheres erupted when I began this virtual sojourn with antiques4geeks blog and others[OS/2world's FORUM came on the scene later for MZ] and since lost the bookmark for his site, so many thank you(s) SAB.  THX + also for the link to the esteemed Barnes WARPED GALaLERY! What Fantastic IMAGES ::) Me thinks the gallery for OS2world could use some "expansion" from the ibmshow via fluxions or perhaps from "contemporaries who found the idea of attractions across empty space unintelligible" ie the Laws of Physics in the time of Newton...rejected at first and later accepted well after his passing, which BTW, seem to have now been rejected (again)because of dark matter and the ineffable? Not selling anything in this post so its kinda off-topic, but I continue to ramble here, sorry.

VIZ. ...of many great things bestowed, upon you, your deployment of the best guess theory stems from the thoughts of Newtons theorums, ref the neighborhood of quanta, or 'corpuscles' even though his ideas have now become "warped"...and therefore once clocked at the event horizon as "velocity OS/2"..truly an unknown and a unquantifiable quantity.

A quote from the MZ Redbook.

FileZilla is v.kewl and portable as a server, so I am not surprised. There is also ADS which can be used in the same way as a file server on a network with different OS/OSes talking to each other anyway, using just ftp servers seems like a great work around instead of direct NICs between OSes that may or may not {see each other} going online and running ftp native that will work, taking out the index.html file of the root server folder can force browsers of different OSes to connect as FTP servers but you may only see subfolders and files in the root servers folder not the whole enchilada which would be if you went Lan wise/with NICS. Which I could not comment on as I have no direct experience, Robert is on the right track here I suppose and I would like to make os/2 warp 4 server and Vista work on the same LAN but right now that will have to wait until I get the rig back up we talked about on another thread...hey I read something about some freeBSD talking to UNIX but for me that is waaaaaaaaaaay out there! Perhaps Solaris would talk to UNIX without alot of hoopla...and therefore if it did, talk directly to OS/2
