Hi Ivan,

I guess you mean this one http://www.os2world.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,63/topic,1737.msg16995/topicseen,1/#new from that I switched to my thread.

I also guess that I might have an interupt IRQ problem or even if USB_MODESWITCH says it is there it might be that the COM Port itself is not initialized in the right way, did not have the time to figure it out though.

I thought there may be someone around who is experienced in Injoy/Modemsoftware.

Thank you very much.

Hm, got the SIM card today works fine with Windows 7 to justify that it works OK.

Deactivated the PIN.

But still the same error message if I use the USB/Com switch (see picture in first post)

If I try to use Injoy it first dials, says "CONNECT" and then stops and hangs up. Please do see picture.

Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance!

Got the tip from elswere ;-)  to deactivate the PIN control. Will test it later once the new SIM card arrives.

Hi,

FYI:

I think it is better to start a new topic, following this one here: http://www.os2world.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,63/topic,1737.30/

Got a Lenovo X200T with an inbuild Sony Ericcson F3507G 3G Modem. Try to get this to work. Did modify usb_modeswitch.conf with the parameters of the card: vendor: 0DBD and product ID 1900. Got a first result here. Have to check exactly what it means, I think it recognizes the card = good , but somehow stops.

Will give the usbecd driver of Wim Brul a try later this day, will receive a needed SIM card for this today as well so that I can try to get access to the net via Injoy and the very good howto presented for this by Ed Durrant.

I will keep you informed.

Any hints - as allways  ::)  - really welcome and appreciated!

Hi Herwig,
thanks for this answer. But I do have no knowledge at all about this (for me this sounds cryptic %..% - sorry!) - I do not know what command in config.sys I do have to add exactly, can you write it down for me, please?

While searching in eCS 2 I found the program "KLIBPATHREWRITER" (or similar) in the Systems Folder, do not understand what that means as well nor if it may be usefull here as well.

Thanks in Advance

Sigurd

Hi,
got a quesiton here: Did everything as described in the ReadMe (copied usbcall and usbresmrg.sys) - but when I start the usb_modeswitch.cmd it says: can not find usbmodeswitch.conf.

I did create a ETC Folder on my Bootdrive ( letter = O:  ) and copied the conf there.

Do I have to place it somewhere else? I use eComStation 2 GA.

Thanks for help.

Hi,

the work with the new Stylus Driver for my Lenovo "X200T" project I am still working on leads me to the following question:

Do you think it makes sence to install eCS2 on such a Tab or Pad (whatever they are called)? May it be impossible (because of hardware/Driver restrictions) - or may it be possbile but useless (no way for a reasonable onor effective use) or may it be....

Every suggestion is welcome!

For sure the i-pad is not a candidate for this, but it may be a Tab like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeTab that is based on Netbook (Intel technology).

What might be possible:

- Installation itself: it does have a USB connector, so might be via USB CD
- Virtual keyboard (already existing)
- Big Icons (already existing)

- and essential: Touch Screen support - but because the new Stylus Driver is already designed as a part of a new Touch screen driver - see: http://home.hccnet.nl/w.m.brul/index.html this might happen, but Multitouch may be impossible but not needed at all for eComStation.

What's your opinion?

I defiantly like the idea of using a 200 Tablet..  I'm wondering if you have the issue of the fan turning off and the system getting really hot that I have on my T500.  I'm investigating the best way to rectify this myself.   I think it would be interesting to use eCS on a full tablet, and the performance is bound to be better then win7.  Would be cool to get multitouch working, or atlleast an on screen control buttons for things like zoom etc, though considering the resolution of most tablets zoom is pointless (zoom out may not be).  Really my question would be how many resources would need to be moved from other projects to allow this to happen.  I for one do not believe that tablets are the "future of computing"  I believe that while they may become popular they are mainly for media consumption, as soon as our tv manufacturers and cable companies get on the ball and give us that consumption through our media center, using a tablet will then become mostly for portable media consumption, which right now is being done by cellphones, and carrying a tablet as well might not really catch on.

Hi Robert,

regarding the fan, please try this, worked for me at least not sure if it is the same with the T500 but worht a try I guess.

Go to BIOS

Change the "Performance mode" to balance and "Battery optimized" for the Engery states at SpeedStepTechnology, even for AC powered.

Cheers

Hardware / SNAP works with Displayport to DVI Adapter
« on: 2010.09.24, 09:10:46 »
Hi,

FYI: Just connected my X200 Dockingstation with a Diplay Port to DVI cable with
the 21" Monitor I have got. The X200T with the installed SNAP 3.18 (full) with
eComStation 2 booted without any problems with a very sharp and clear view.
Maxiumum resolution is availiable (1650X1080 in my case)

See attached picture.

Further information: How to install SNAP with modern chipset Intel4500?: While
initial installation of eCS 2 choose "Panorama Vesa". Once Installation is
finished, delete the SNAP folder on your boot Drive. Get the SNAP 3.18 full
edition (not the one that comes with eCS2) with the free availiable registration
code and install it. Reboot and for me the SNAP works, even in VESA 3.0 mode it
is not slower as the Panorama but also cuts some Panorma deficits with SDL and
Virtual PC applications.

IMPORTANT HINT: If you reboot with SNAP the first time and your monitor stays
black and says something like "out of adjustment" wait until the eCS is booted
(even if you can not see the WPS), then press ctrl+alt+del and you will see the
blue menu. Choose C to go to command line, change to the SNAP directory you
created during SNAP install, type : gactrl.exe to start the SNAP control
program, choose 2 for LCD refresh control, adjust to 60 MHZ, press ESC several
times to get bakc and the WPS will appear (hopefully :-) )

Hi,

thanks for your suggestions!

@ BlondeGuy - Yes, it is in fact not to hard to change the WLAN Adapter and to replace the BIOS, it takes about 15 MInutes at all, 10 screws have to be moved - BUT: I think one will lose the Lenovo warranty once you do this. That is the main problem I guess. Typing can be done via the Virtual keyboard program once Touch is enabled - see - http://de.ecomstation.ru/projects/vkeyb/ . For me unfortunately Voice type is not working , I guess because of the use of UNIAUD (the speakers do work, but the microphone not, have to test the microphone jack though), same with Virtual PC.

@ Melf - compared with the video it is even much better now! Wim does a great job - the right mouse click is working now (press the middle button of the Stylus), movement is very smooth and exact, even in WinOS2! It is really incredible, how much this Stylus support improved the use of EcomStation to me! Especially while surfing....

Hi,
here http://www.os2.de/news/?area=1#11007 I wrote down "my" story about getting eComStation to run on a modern Laptop. I do not know if Thomas will do me the favour to tranlsate it once again into english, but I am afraid my english is not good enough and it is that quite long... ;-) - Yes - I am to lazy!

So please do use google translator if you are interested in, sorry for that inconvinience!

Hi Thoams,

I did explain some things here:

Sorry that is in German, but I guess for the others it might be read- and understandable via Google Translator.

Thanks for your reply!
