Hi,
because of having more than 2000 clicks on "my eCs2/X200T" Thread in the Thinkpad Forum and more than 44000 clicks on my Youtube OS/2 - eCS videos my Desktop started to get Red..... ;D

One might want to give this a try:

Description:

http://www.rom-logicware.com/

Download OS/2 Demo Version (from 2008, therfore I guess it is not listet in the current English Download page)

http://www.papyrus.de/files/PapX_OS2_Demo.exe

UPPS! This link is not working anymore - I do not know if there is another place to find this file. I might find it in my archive if someone is interested in...

The fastest word processor I ever used, needs only a few megabyte to install, with VoiceType Support, Full WPS integration,....

Usually I use this one with eComStation, OO in case of Impress.

Communication / Driver at hobbes - HSPA with Lenovo X200T
« on: 2010.10.26, 07:42:27 »
@Melf:  TACK!

Hi,

the author gave his OK and now one can download the patched usbcom.sys at hobbes. It extends the usbcom to support usb 2.0. Use at your own risk, may work for you or not.

Thanks to the author!

(now in pub/incoming, later:)

Communication / HSPA with Lenovo X200T - FINALLY RUNNING!
« on: 2010.10.24, 13:50:25 »
Yes,

I did solve the last problems and am writing this direct via UMTS/HSPA connection now!!!

I will place a video about this with a small HowTo on Youtube as well as later on at hobbes (if it is not to big as a wmv movie)

Stay tuned for more!!!

That proofs my theory: there is allways a solution possible....

Polls / News Update to: Video about eComStation 2.0
« on: 2010.10.22, 09:32:10 »
Hi,

believe it or not - I still do work on this topic  ::)

I did define the following:

Title (but still a secret  :D ), 9 words in all

Chapters: leitmotif (hm - seems to be a word like kindergarten - transformed from german to english) will be a timeline from 1987 to 2010; referring to the title of the movie - with the years up to 2005 will covering 1/3third of the time, 2010 ("today") 2/3 of the time

Hardware shown:

- IBM Thinkpad 760 ED
- IBM Thinkpad T42p
- Lenovo X200T

Software shown:

(most of them with "shrinked wrapped boxes" at hand  8)

- IBM OS/2 Version 1-1.2 (only pictures)
- IBM OS/2 1.3 - 2.11 (in motion - Virtual PC)
- Warp 3 (connect) with the Thinkpad 760ED, with reference to Warp Server 4
- Warp 4 (4.5) with the T42p
- eComStation 1.0 - 1.2R (in motion - Virtual PC)
- eComStation 2 with the Lenovo X200T (including LAN,WLAN,WAN,Stylus,Sound.....)

Some small clips from and references to youtube will be added as well.

I am still not sure but the maximum time is 10 Minutes, I guess in the end there will be the "short" 10 Minutes version (to keep it uploadable at youtube) and a longer one (Directors cut - hahahahaha.... ) that will be placed at hobbes.

Release date:

In 2010, most likely around x-mas, may be a teaser earlier

Will let check it by IBM before.

So, I hope I will keep my own promise :-)

Would be nice to have a "SMP" working flash and Java 6 until x-mas though   ;)

Stay tuned for more...

By the way: If you may want to read something more about the "X200T - eCS2 story", please check this:

Try adding an entry into the hosts table for the domain/web address. That should hopefully resolve the error.

Best,
Robert

Hi Robert,

thanks for this - but this does not work. I have to go to event.vodafone.de first, but this site does not have an IP address so I am not able to write something in the hosts file.

As far as I understand - once I try to connect to the APN event.vodafone.de I do get automatically an "own" IP Adress, and usually it should automatically connect to the DNS 139.7.30.126 or 139.7.30.125. Sometimtes I do get the right "own" adress like one in the 10.0 xyz range, but if I leave "Destiantion address" blank I get 255.255.255.255 as destination IP.

As you may read between the lines this all is something beyond my mind. I tried everything I was able to figure out, but as long as there is no one who is familiar with INJOY or ISDNPM or ecsonet - I will stay at 99%... It seems to me "just" to find the right configuration parameters, I am able to "see" the 3G Modem, I am able to switch it on, to pass PIN barrier, to establish a connection - but I am not able to solve the DNS problem.... :-\ ???

Thanks though!

Sigurd

By the way: one more of the remaining two projects is already on its way - the Webcam support ... ;-)

Communication / HSPA with Lenovo X200T - did succed!!
« on: 2010.10.12, 09:05:18 »
Hi,

one point more nealry fixed on my way to support Lenovo X200T with eComStation 2:

someone ;-) did help me to modify usmbcom.sys so for now I can use the internal HSPA Modem of the Lenovo X200T with eComStation without a trap in USBCOM while starting a browser!

Thinks still need to be modified:

I guess these happen because I may have wrong settings for Injoy:

- I need to buy online time for this (PrePaid) - in Windows I once I start the connection will be automatically forced to the Internetsite where I have to buy this - in eComStation there is no "automatic way" and I still did not found the IP of the site (DNS Problem?)

- I can contact to 139.7.147.41 (the IP of Vodafone (I did buy Onlinetime before through Windows)) but the browaser tells a security error once I use http://www.... instead of IP (DNS problem??!)

But all in all I can say - YES - it works!!!!

See Picture Please:

Communication / Re: WWAN/UMTS/HSPA with Lenovo X200T
« on: 2010.10.04, 11:50:51 »
Hi Thomas,

further investigations and some help lead me to the idea to have to change something with ifconfig. Unfortunately I have the "terminate" back and a "full crash" sometimes when starting my "Pro 7 UMTS" script in Injoy - but I do not know what I did change.... As it still works in Windows 7 it is not a hardware problem, can switch the modem with AT+CFUN=6 as usual. One has already given me a tailored ifconfig that I will test once I solved the "crash" problem. Since I do know that it worked for at least two days I guess I will can get steam back again ;-)

I tried to PING some adresses, that did not work either.

And I remembered to have nearly the same problems some years ago (where have those gone... ;-)  ) with LAN and WLAN - switching between them.

I will keep reporting once I can establish a connection again.

Cheers and Danke!

Hi Herwig,

thanks! Can you give me a helping hand as I do not know how to do this at all? Where do I have to set this tables up?

As for now if I establish a connection the Firefox gives an error message and I do not know how handle this (see picture)

I still have LAN and WLAN as well, with WLAN I can connect, unfortunaltely the "switching" between LAN and WLAN does not work any more, I do not know why. Does this influence WWAN, so like to say I do have to switch something in my "network connection" to switch over to WWAN?

Sorry for this, but I am not skilled in this.

And thanks for advice!

Communication / SUCCESS!!!!!!!
« on: 2010.10.02, 10:32:05 »
Hi,

guess what: I am able to establish a connection!!! Solution was quite simple in the end, still have to figure some things out to let Firefox use the connection, but I am on TRACK - ON LINE!!

See picture:

Solution was: with "invalid IP" - that was not my "OWN IP" it was the "DESTINATION IP" I had to write into Injoy, the IP of Vodafone in my case.

Will make a short movie once it runs as fluent as it ought to!

Isn't that great, isn't it??? Thanks for all the help, some more may be needed though :-)

Stay tuned for more!

@ ivan - no problem at all! Even it is an internal device it is connected via USB.

Here is what I did with Injoy so far:

I named it: Pro 7 UMTS
At PPP Setup I only changed one thing, the IP Adresse of event.vodafone.de ,it is 139.007.030.125 at Nameserver adress. own IP Adresse ist 0.0.0.0.

At comsetup I did:
Port setup = com 5 (in config.sys included as: DEVICE=O:\OS2\BOOT\USBCOM.SYS /N:COM5 /M:1 /I:32 /O:32 /V )
Portspeed 345600

phone number: +99#
Init string 1: AT&F
Init string 2:
Dialing prefix: ATDT

Everything else I left as it is

Once I started Injoy I do:

AT+CFUN=6

Then start via DIAL my Pro 7 UMTS

Then I get the following messages:
(I skip the time stamps)

RX: CONFIG_REQ
OPTION-> LCPOPTION_AUTOPRT, METHOD [CHAP]

OPTION -> LCPOPTION_ADRESSCOMP

Hope this is of some information and my initialize some clue by someone!

Hint: If I change own IP from 0.0.0.0 to i.e. 192.168.2.190 the Dialing phrase stops even earlier!

Communication / Progress and STylus support for X61Tablet
« on: 2010.10.01, 08:13:28 »
Hi,

thanks to Wim Brul I found at ThinkWIki AT commands for the WWAN card, at least I am able to "speak to it" now :-)  (see picture) . Seems USB_Modeswitch may not be necessary....

Wim Brul managed to get the Stylus on x61tablet to work as well, please look at his homepage. The Drivers does work not only with ecomstation but also with Warp 4!

Help is allways appreciated, maybe there is someone around with a X31Tablet or an x41Tablet - please contact Wim! Same if there is someone around with Touch/Multitouch PC/Laptop.

Cheers
