Thanks diver.

It was sent to me  "VisPro/REXX Gold 3.1"

I'm still looking for:

  • VisPro C++ Version 3.01
  • VisPro C Version 3.01
  • VisPro/Reports 2.1

So, I will appreciate if you can send me VisPro/Reports 2.1.

About database designer, I'm not sure which is the last version, I'm guessing that the one that comes with "VisPro/REXX Gold 3.1" is the last version.

Thanks

A new ve. .. .

I don't know if this released did something, but on the Thinkpad R51 that I installed this version, after the reboot, the temperature of the reactor widget showed some temperature drop. From 75° to 55°. That's good here.

Joachim from Mensys told me that there is no problem from their side to turn it freeware.

So, I'm starting to collect the binaries to put them on hobbes.

Hi xChris

Thanks for letting me know that. I will have to talk to Mensys about this.

Applications / Looking for VisPro software
2012.08.29, 05:33:30
Hi

I e-mailed Dave Hock from Hockware/Vispro software. I was trying to turn his VisPro software open source but sadly the source code no longer exists. It was lost on a HDD crash.

But Dave had authorized to use VisPro software as "AS IS", "no support", "no questions ask" :) freeware.

I need help finding the last version of the binaries to put them available at hobbes:

  • VisPro C / C++ Version 3.01
  • VisPro/REXX Gold 3.1
  • VisPro/Reports 2.1
  • Database Designer

Please let me know if anybody has the installers of this software. If you have a older version please let me know too.

Regards

Thanks Andreas, Andy for your reply.

The tip of using NewView is helping. "Tools-> Save as IPF..." on Newview extracted all the BMP files correctly.

Now I'm trying VyperHelp to try to convert it directly from IPF to HTML.

Hi

I had been trying to convert a INF file to HTML with INF2HTML (i2htm091.zip). But in some .INF files the process get trunked when reaching to extract the images. If I disable the images extraction, the file is converted to HTML completely.

But I still want to extract the images.

Does anybody knows...
- If the INF file can be fixed so it can not give any errors to extract the graphic files?
- Or if there is any other way to extract the pictures when I got this INF file that gives errors with INF2HTML?

Here is a file that gave me error with INF2HTML.

I can't remember which version of Warp 4  first got JFS

uhm.. If I don't recall it wrong, JFS got supported since Warp Server 4.5 (Aurora - Warp Server for e-business 4.5) and Warp 4.51 (Merlin Convenience Pack).

If by any chance someone can take over Amouse development, it will be interesting also if the VirtualBox Mouse driver functionality can also be added to Amouse. Maybe the work that Knut made on the mouse driver, can be included on the Amouse since both are based on IBM DDK code and share the same user license limitation (can't be open sourced).

Hi Dan

I have a Thinkpad L420 with 6GB of RAM and eComStation 2.1 boots fine. One 4GB and one 2GB SO-DIMM DDR3 memory on it.

Sadly, there is not yet a driver for the wireless NIC (Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205) that this machine has.

The rest is fine, of course bluetooth, finger-reading and webcam are not working.

Events / Anybody going to WarpStock 2012??
2012.08.15, 01:20:24
I'm not going to WarpStock 2012... I simple don't have the money to travel from Ecuador to this event.

But I really want to be posting news and anything that happen on the event on that days. ( Friday, August 17 through Sunday, August 19, 2012). Neil Waldhauer (BlondGuy) is going to be like crazy that days with the event and he will need help from any volunteer to post stuff of what is happening.

If anybody is going to WarpStock and would like to send me some daily summary of what happened, pictures, comments, or even live streaming with their phone (qik.com) please let me know. I will be happy to post it at OS2World.com.

Reading back the WarpStock 2007 Voyager presentation. I think that was the best idea. The OS/2 distinctive technology is the WPS constructed over SOM, and building a WPS and SOM open source clone over eComStation was a good plan to have at least a roadmap for the platform to have a future.

I would really like to start and collaborate on a project aims to clone WPS. For now it can be just over eComStation and IBM' SOM, re-using the stuff we have in xWorkplace, xshadows, etc. I'm not a developer but I can help on documentation, GIT admin, communication, whatever. I just hope that there will be some developers out there with interest to try to work together on this goal.

I used long time ago Common Desktop Environment (CDE) on AIX environment (ohh... the memories). It is good to see it open sourced and now available for the general public.

But I think that CDE differs a lot from what we know as the Workplace Shell (with all the objects and the SOM stuff).  Running CDE over OS2-eCS may be interesting too but I don't see it as a migration path for the platform to have a future.
