As I mentioned previously, I have Netbios and Netbios over TCP/IP installed as protocols on both PC's. Could this be a problem? ...
Jim
0... TCP/IP
0... Netbios over TCP/IP
1... Netbios
or similar is what I have.
I have installed plain Netbios on my XP Thinkpads too. Remember, XP do _not_ install netbios correctly when you do not copy the files by yourself (mentioned here in another thread). XP do not even show an error message and shows Netbios as installed protocol, but it isn't.
Another thing is the user id and password. Not sure if the have to be upper case, I use lower case when logging on at XP. But there maybe a registry key to automaticall made them upercase when logging on at Warp Server or the IBM logon client (on one machine but not really necessary) or the server does it automatically, I don't know. But, don't use special and no more than 12 (?) characters. I seem to remember, that '-' works but '_' do not work in my user id.

Hi Andi,
I have the ECS system set up as above. There is something that XP doesn't like about my workstation setup that it doesn't see the IBMPEERS connection in the create a new printer wizard but it sees it in other ways such as when I use the "Net Use" command.
