Hi Meezzio,
Ivan answered when I was writing, but I post this anyway. I haven't used W4 the last ten years, but..

- the updated install disks could be found here http://www.warpdoctor.org/downloads.html . With hpfs your limit should be about 64GB and with JFS about 2TB.

- it's adviceable to also update to the latest fixpack (15).

- The 64MB RAM thing is (as I remember) a setting on some older computer bioses, which sometimes has to be used and sometimes not. I think the RAM limit is between 3 and 4 GB (as with eCS).

This is just some initial help. Other people on this forum (like Ivan) are a lot more knowledged on this matter than I am.

Networking / Re: Almost dead network after qbittorrent

I have also had problems with earlier releases of Qbittorrent, they frooze my system after some time running. However, the latest release has worked flawless. I then tried both with and without the patched tcpip32.dll which made no difference.

Hi bbouchard,
I managed to reproduce your problem on my eCS system. I have also installed openjdk with the wpi-pack on hobbes. I have had problems with Frostwire (see other thread) connection. I started Frostwire by double clicking on frostwire.jar as the openjdk.wpi-pack make a java-start object for you. However when starting same frostwire.jar by commandline (java -jar frostwire.jar) or by a cmd-file with the same expression, Frostwire works.

Now, I did start another java-program by doubleclicking on its jar-file (this time I randomly chose Arachnofilia) and well it launched fine and seemed to work. But after doing that I can't launch vbox!

So please try to start a java-program the command line way instead and see if that will make it possible for you to start vbox afterwords.

I tried some other programs functionality after double clicking jar: Except for vbox I also get trouble with pm123 (first I get error "no active output" the I can launch but not open any file, but already loaded file turns out to save as wav. It turns out that the DART-plugin has disappeard.. ), ecomarket (don't launch), pmmaps (don't launch), pdfmerge (just an error message).

Starting with java -jar frostwire.jar got rid of the connection problem! A normal cmd-file worked as well.

I'm using 1.6.0ga-b22 and Frostwire 5.2.11. My installation of java is by the wpi-package on hobbes. Parameters of that program object is -jar %**F . After install I just double click on the frostwire.jar (oddly enough I always have to doubleclick twice on every java-program to make it launch; that's however a little problem).

It launches nicely also here!
However, I have hard to make it work through my router/firewall so I can't tell about how it really works. Other software, as Azareus and QBitTorrent seems to configure this automatically through UPnP and Frostwire should also but doesn't.

Hi, eilygre. I've tried with different fonts and also the one you talked about. All look fine when I view pdf:s in Lucide exported from Scribus.

In fact Ben, I think an invention to be patented has to be new and inventive, meaning not known and used by others in the world before. You can't apply for a patent on anything not earlier patented. So with regard to tabs "working like dividers in a notebook", ..well I doubt that this could be regarded as "not known" or "inventive".

About grain and maybe animals..well that's another and much more unpleasant story where profit meet ethics.

Such patent claims are really ridiculous. Consider that tabs has been around in paper card indexes long way before computers even existed. Making virtual things look like real things is not much of innovation. Soon someone, maybe Apple (?) will claim that they have patent on the idea of a desktop...

Applications / Re: How relevant is the .inf format?
« on: 2011.10.10, 16:28:23 »
Hi Martin,
I mostly prefer the newview-help before pdf. I think that the great advantage of *.inf *.hlp files (what is the difference by the way?) is that you can get online help. Just press F1 and you get the relevant information, for your present problem. It is also good to have complex information structured in different searchable parts, however sometimes it had been easier to have a better overview. So my opinion:

1. I appreciate the online help, F1, pointing to the relevant info.
2. I like the possibility to view a chosen part of complex information.
3. A "view all" button (showing all in the topic as a scrollable (and searchable) text) on newview would make me completely satisfied.

But of course, well structured pdfs, with headings in the left panel could be good enough for points 2 and 3, while missing opportunities to make bookmarks and notes (haven't used them myself- but that feature could be helpful).
