Setup & Installation / Re: Intel chipset not fully su...

Well, neither of you answered the question. If HLT is never executed, then it won't save a lot of power, nor will it cool the computer. Your dump of ACPISTAT shows that HLT was never executed. Is that correct? Or is the counter not actually hooked up?

At least on my X60, the HLT version of ACPI does run cooler, and that's good, but without throttle control, any CPU intensive task will heat the machine to the point where it shuts off. By the way, IPIHLT is always zero on my x60, even though I know it runs cooler with the HLT version of ACPI.

Paul:

QuoteFWIW - I don't recommend removing the CONFIG_SITE reference.

Well, I get a LOT further without it, than I do with it. It always stops with:
configure.:3322: error: in `U:/wget-1.14':
configure.:3325: error: failed to load site script u:/moztools/config.site-gcc335b4
See `config.log' for more details

When I look in config.log, the only relevant thing that I see, are these three lines, which tell me nothing.

If I REM the site entry in GCC335.cmd (I also added set grep=grep.exe), I get a lot of output, that looks pretty reasonable, then it stops at:

./configure.lineno: 6947: Syntax error: "!" unexpected

If I look in the configure file (which I have to assume this is working with), line 6947 is blank. I have no idea what it wants.

Dave: I haven't got around to trying anything that you suggested, yet. More when I find the time.

Applications / update homepage
Last post by Joop - 2012.09.30, 18:30:09
Don't know where to put it on this board, but I want to let you know that I have updated my homepage with some information about Java programs and how to set it up along with zip files with icons, a cmd file and sometimes additional difficult to find files.
You can find it with the enclosed link. You can go back in the menu and try another tree or go back all the way to the top if your Dutch speaking. Have fun! Oh, if you have comments, my native is *NOT* English, please let me know.

Some computers will still need throttle control. So I hope it remains in the toolkit, so we can implement throttling to keep those computers cool. HLT is great, but sometimes it isn't enough. In your example above, IPIHLT = 0. Doesn't that mean that HLT isn't working on that computer?
Interesting, which one? HLT was already build in the processor in the days of the XT. So you say you have a system with a processor which doesn't support HLT? In other words is not X86 compatible?

Thats from my T60. And just about any x86 cpu suports HLT instructions:

Do we have Java Control Panel?

some screenshots:

In Windows I can select
/Security\ -> Certificates -> Import

something related:

Question:
Does c:\PROGRAMS\JAVA142 (Innotek Java) has Control Panel?! so users can import certificates.

Thanks guys. This will take a bit of study, and experimenting, and I don't have time at the moment.

QuoteBTW, I didn't release that moztools though it is basically the same as the one I use.

Sorry, I was thinking of MZFNTCFGFT.

I suppose that I really should get a new copy of Paul's build environment, but what I have is working well for what I actually use it for so I hate to upset the apple cart.

More, when I find the time...
