Hi, everyone.

I'm looking for a Model M2 keyboard (small, lighter, grey, with the IBM logo in the upper right corner of the keyboard).  I have one here on another machine that has a date of "05-Nov-93".  It was made for IBM by Lexmark and has the part number of 1305300.  I have one of the original Model M keyboards, but unfortunately, it's too big for me to use with my current system.

Please respond to me here or email me through the forums.

Thanks
Sean (used to be hausmaus on the forums)

I may have one back home. I have the "Computer beige" IBM keyboard & mouse that came with my Aptiva Multimedia PC, I will be able to let you know definatively in about 2 weeks when I go home for christmas holiday.

I am not sure what this ( kybd ) looks like but I have a couple of older IBM (small) kybds from the PC Jr rigs I have running, are the M2 like those? Pls educate me...models et al...:) Ok there are several PC jr
keyboards like the small M2 but not a clikey or made by Unisys, right? I know that there is more than one
M2 so are we talking the heavy one or the lighter model?

From what I found on Wiki, Unicomp bought the rights to continue building the M2, I have a few Ps/1 kybds left and some short ones too, but I cannot ascertain the Mod nos of the short kybds until I retrieve them fr storage...I do have four two button mouse units for the PS/1 I just opend yesterday

Okay, dug out my keyboard/mouse. I believe the mouse is 100% okay, though the keyboard may have a case of annoying keys where the bottom left area of the keyboard doesnt respond to key presses. I cleaned it out with some air and poked around, and everything seems to be in order there. When it bugged out on me before, i would just squeeze it or hit that area it would work  ;) These things are robust, they got me through my quake2/quake3 years with out dieing! More than I can say for my Labetc stuff.

I found great keyboards, and bought mine, from
http://pckeyboards.stores.yahoo.net/keyboards.html

They state: ". You may not recognize the name, but if you know IBM or Lexmark, you already know a lot about us. Unicomp was established in 1996 when we purchased keyboard technology from Lexmark International, the former IBM Division and long-time maker of high quality keyboards for IBM. Today at Unicomp, we continue the tradition of making quality keyboards."

Hope it helps
Dave

ok maybe I should...start a new topic but since its easy to review ones own posts here on OS2world regardless as to the 'vintage'  of any topic, nothin is stale so here we go, like a fine wine its never stale even though it may smell bad: up for grabs is my collection of os/2 warp software, IBM 'clakey' keyboards as they were once known, and a nice old PC Jr with Monitor; this is a second PC jr. and I cant seem to find space for it on the IBM_show trailer, unless I get a new longer trailer that is...but that will not happen until I can find a place to store IBM_show during the upgrade, so help me here please so I do not have to keep this stuff boxed up where it will never be used or shown to/by the kid_didles::: as for price, you set it and I will consider any reasonable offer seriously! If you require pix to make sure I am not a kiddin email me please; I dont ship outside of the lower 48 and use UPS exclusievely with signature only. Tanks -Modzilla the IBM_Show pimpin' Modder Ill pimp for IBM anyday as long as they go opensource for IBM os/2 warp4-5?now we are goin green finally otay?

You are seriously getting rid of Model M keyboards? Really? I gave my mom one ten or twelve years ago... she wont sell it back to me... it's 22 years old and still going strong - four computers later.

PM me the details on the Model Ms... I can always make room for a few more.

I'm also looking for Model M13s (with working trackpoints)... anyone?

Ya Me thinkso, it be big and clunkey[clikey' with the IBM logos] and I also have smaller ones that look alot like the bigger one, and even the smallest for the PC Jr which btw is very lite, all [ im afraid to say] must go as one lot with the Jr. so PLEASE make me an offer I cannot refuse, eh? Sadly, I must restate: 'hate to part with the IBM M2 keyboards and stuff but I literally have TONS OF IT for the travelling IBM roadshow_which perhaps may be seen in/at school near your domicile, dreadfull as it may seem...blue lights and all...MZ

'will get back to you on the M13 if I can find it...NOPE, here is a pic of the M2 `101'

hey sdennis! Did you ever get the "M2 kybd" if so how do you like it?

MZ

whilst going green, from the Interop blog on www.informationweek.com, D. Berlind said - quote: "Two key takeaways for me were (1) many so-called "green" remedies have a dark enough side to them that they may not be as green as we think they are, and (2) it may take another 15 or 20 years before we have it all sorted out. It's not as bad as it sounds, but ..." goin green is just a propaganda tool used by corps [esp the big MS] to inhance their image of concern and understanding of community affairs in appearing involved...just like when we say we are sorry only because we say we are...
