I did first install (migration) over ECS silver. None of the video driver work. No way to adjust screen. So I reinstall formating the disk.
Fresh installation went thrue without problem.

I have a fax-modem connected to a com port. I am not too technical but I was lucky by adding the following line in config.sys:
DEVICE=C:\OS2\BOOT\COM.SYS
This solved the problem with my fax modem.

I have a printer "Samsung ML-1610". This printer was working fine with eCups previously with (ECS Silver). But now reinstalling many time Cups on ECS 2.0 GA No way. Cannot print anything else than the test page. Anyone can help me on this printer problem?

hi bouchard

where does the problem come in?

You can print the test page from CUPS.

Have you created an OS/2 printer object for OS/2 apps to use?

If you have is it pointing to the correct printer port - cups1?

Have you created an OS/2 printer object for OS/2 apps to use?   YES

If you have is it pointing to the correct printer port - cups1?   YES

I receive a message saying: "Error during spooling to CUPS Server"

Pete

Hi bouchard

I must admit that I have not seen spooling problems with cups before.

I think the starting point may be: Do you have a \cups\var\spool\cups directory?

If "Yes" is it on a drive with some space? - and do you, and cups, have write access to that drive?

Another question is: Which version of cups are you using?

Do you have a \cups\var\spool\cups directory?   YES
If "Yes" is it on a drive with some space? 24,586,544 Kb free
and do you, and cups, have write access to that drive? It is installed on the root drive. I beleive I and CUPS have write access but I don't know the way to check.

Cups version v1.3.x
gs version is  8.71
printer name in CUPS: Samsung_ML-1610 same name in output port CUPS1
driver name in printer object: ECUPS.Samsung ML-1610

Many thanks for your help.

Hi bouchard

Sorry but I think I am out of ideas - except you should "kill" cupsd.exe and set the log to debug level by changing this line in \cups\etc\cups\cupsd.conf:-
LogLevel info

Change to
LogLevel debug

Then restart cupsd, attempt to print to get the necessary data into the log, then post about the problem in the ecups newsgroup and attach the debug log.

Hopefully someone will spot the cause of the problem.

The problem is resolved.
Double checking if all the files was at the last version I found that cupslpr.exe located in tcpip/bin was not correct (badly copied). I copied again over and this solved the problem.
