I generally use minicom on Linux for serial port commmunication. Also, I can see the ports /dev/ttyS0..S3 through setserial command.
How can I use serial console in eCS 2.1

Andi

I've no clue what minicom is but use my serial ports -
- from 4os2 command shell ('mode com1:' 'copy xxx com1:' ....)
- with terminal programs (Halite, ZOC)
- from my own programs using DosOpen and DEV_IOCTLs and....
- with Win31 programs to connect to an Incircuit Emulator
- from DOS programs to program microcontrollers...
- from newer win programs running with odin
- with Injoy dialer to connect to the Internet via ordinary telephone line
- PM-FAX for sending faxes via modem
- AND BEST OF ALL - sharing them over the network to access them from other computers

What do you want do to with your serial port?

Serial ports in OS/2 use a similar convention to the way serial ports work in DOS, with ComX (with X being the port # of the serial port).

If you're just trying to access something through the port, the easiest way is to install Hyper Access Lite, which is a aprt of the old Bonus Pack.
