While this is not strictly a computing article, it is a very interesting read, from a name familiar to eCS & OS/2 users with the current "Xbox 360" scenario.

From the article just for starters...

"Microsoft is cagey about coughing up official failure rate figures, which has lead some commentators to speculate about the actual severity of the problem. Luke Plunkett, a blogger on respected games news site Kotaku, said in a recent post that if the real failure rate wasn't in the 30-40% range, he'd "wolf down humble pie until his sides split."

At least there is no "Blue Screen of Death" this time around.

There has been an article posted that estimates the failure rate. Also, I can attest to some people being beyond retarded with it, sticking it in enclosed spaces or above DVRs and things of the like, just plain idiocy.
IMO, thats what you get when you build it with a PPC processor and ATI graphics card. The Xbox was much more sound with its Celeron/P3 and its Nvidia chipset. Oh well, live and learn.
