Hi All ,

    Stardock systems had brought out a 'hung application' killer called Process Commander for OS/2 . What happened to that application, as it is not available from BMT Micro or Mensys and which of these is better - CAD Commander or Process Commander ?

Regards

Paul

Ben

I use Stardock's Process Commander and the CAD Commander that comes with eCS.

PC requires a few tricks to get to work, but work it still does,
(with some limitations), with eCS rc4.

Together they make a great team.

You can no longer buy Stardock's Process Commander, but a quick scan around the internet should make you happy.

I hope this helps you some...

I've earlier used Process Commander; but wasn't there an issue with that after a certain fp or something else was changed in OS2 so that it didn't work proper any more.

Another great tool is WatchCat that I've used as well during many years.

As I said in my previous post on this; Process Commander still works.

I use it with eCS rc4 without problem or incident, you just have to be careful how you install it.

I if recall correctly, the only thing that doesn't work is the selection of the control keys, but I'd have to dig a bit deeper into my notes to confirm the specifics.

not sure if Moderator posed this as a statement or a question as to wether it still works or not, guess if it does not we can all just cop a free copy in an .iso file...seems to be the way of the "world" here...

post to my own post, eh? ...who reads olde posts anyway but I was picqued by the term "process commander", never used it in OS/2 warp or connect; as I use a similarly named process tool for hastalaVista, called Spyware Process Detector, or SPD v3.01. that seems to work ok when I get hacked, SPD picks up hidden apps instantly run by script kittys and you can stop the service or even remove the file, immediately...so it helps reveal when you or el vato is hackin mel. So, I did a Lycos search and came up with stardock.com but found no offering for it [-process commander-] there now, maybe I will try to buy it with some real dinerros on Ebay or Kijiji should it ever be offered for sale again, hopefully v.soon; ))gee who would of thought to buy it?  I will have to spend my EUROSNorthAmerikanDineros money somewhere, eh?  How bout using silver debloons instead of horse trading, anyone out there want to sell the original copy[in an os/2 retail box of course]to a collector for a modest sum?(( I guess SPD never came Ported for OS/2 not that anyone uses it for the net anyway...like what ISP would allow that?

Process Commander; though you can't purchase a copy any more, it's not a hard thing to track down.

It's been floating around the ether for years.

An ethereal butterfly net should help you snag one... if you search using the correct pair of Goggles your task should be a breeze. 8)

Rrrrright_toh, Ben & thank you; its gotta be "out there floating around" somewhere-as you suggest. I ll put the olde 3D goggles on and do a google '10 to the 100th power search' as you suggested, Lycos and AltaVista algorithms may not have picked it up? Anyone out there sell old os2 warp server anymore? I would like to have it shipped at my expense, and I will swap a nice vintage pc jr fur it...the one with the two expansion bays on the side.

...and always remember;

                   if everything else fails :-\ you can always speak to the PM.

Like the guy in the elevator, you know the one there with F.L.Wright and I quote
"oh, so you are Mr Frank Lloyd" [well sort of a quote here this may have been an U.L. long before they were even dubbed that silly term]

FLW: "yes"

the guy in the elevator: "ya, well, I am an Architect too..."

FLW: "wrong, that is the problem, you are an Architect too!"

the guy in the elevator: "errrrrrrrrrr?"

so we now know why the guy was caught off guard...I was a PM once, too much paperwork! btw I still cant find process commander for OS/2, anybody got any more grand ideas?

OK, ModZilla, I can only drop a hint, but ultimately, it's your choice.

Hmmm... I wonder what your OS/2World "Toolbar" says at the top... mine says:

HOME - HELP - SEARCH - PROFILE - MY MESSAGES(1) - MEMBERS - LOGOUT

How interesting...   ;D  ::)
