Hi

I'm currently having problems installing eCS 2.0 RC7 in a new desktop machine put together by myself.

The Components are:
- Intel DH55TC Motherboard.
- Intel i5 750 (quad) processor
- SATA HDD 120GB
- 2GB RAM - DDR3 (1GBx2)
- LG SATA DVD RW
- Nvidia GEForce 9400 PCI-e

1) First try: I insert the eCS RC7 Cd and run it. I select "Boot from the ECS CD" and "Normal" setting.
It loads the disks to memory, the little eCS box appear and it traps so fast I can not see which thing it is breaking it.

The trap is. 000d

2) So I tried the options boot, selection my own values.
I changed the "Target Hardware" to: "Modern hardware, ACPI mode", press F10 and continue.
It showed me the eComStation Logo and it game the "Insert eComStation Installation CD-ROM and Press any Key"

I can't go forward from there. If I press any key it wait a little while and gave me the same error. It doesn't make any effort to read the Cd, the SATA DVD light does not light up.

I also tried the enhanced CDROM driver JJCDROM, with the same results. It seems once I press F10, it boots from what it had loaded into memory from the disks, and does not connect to the DVD drive.

I'm possible thinking that is some issue with the SATA DVD, but I'm open of suggestions of what to do.

I can not install a IDE CDROM since the mainboard doesn't not have support for it.

Hi Martin,
don't know if this apply to your problem in any way, but it may give you some ideas, http://bugs.ecomstation.nl/view.php?id=2377.

Same issue here on my C2d build.

Do you have your SATA controller turned to IDE mode in the BIOS?

I'll try and experiment with this a bit here later (trying to install to a 16gb CF card on a CF->SATA adapter with 8gb of RAM) sooo I may have other deal-breakers on top of having ACHI enabled in BIOS. Hey, Win7 makes use of it and its actually a pretty cool tech, but I may turn it off to see if I can persuade eCS to make a boot on this.

Thanks, Melf, Saijin_Naib

I had notice on the BIOS that I have three combination for the Drive settings.

1. ATA/IDE MODE = NATIVE
Configure Storage Controller as = IDE

2. ATA/IDE MODE = NATIVE
Configure Storage Controller as = AHCI

..and
3: ATA/IDE MODE = Legacy

The third one worked to recognize the SATA LG DVD as a IDE device using the Danis driver.

I'm currently installing to test driver configuration.

Glad you got that part worked out. Let us know what other traps you come across.
For instance, my BIOS defaults to having PnP OS to OFF and Legacy USB to ON.
