Hi lpino

I suspect xul.dll should be in the same directory as firefox.exe - not being a firefox user I am only guessing there.

What I would do with the log you have generated is to post it on the mozilla ng and see if any of the experts have any idea what the problem is.

Regards

Pete

Never, ever install a new version of firefox over an existing one - read the read me!

Maybe you need to clean up your ini files.  Run checkini /c ( from wptools) to do that.  You will most probably be very surprised at how much garbage there is in there.  You can also run cleanini /c /restart if you just want am automated clean.  Look om hobbes for wptools and cleanini.

I'm wrinting this post from my Firefox under eCS. The checkini /c solved the problem. This problem reminded me of windows and all it's registry problems- I hope this is not a sign of this to come. The idea it's not to repeat Windows mistakes.

Thanks Ivan for your help.

Glad to have been of assistance.

The only problem with the OS/2 ini files is that not everything cleans up after itself co leaving junk behind.  That of itself is not a real problem, it only becomes one if the wrong information is stored and also if the ini files become very large.

From my observation a lot depends on what you are doing.  For example, we have one box that is used for manipulating images, that requires a clean out of the ini files once a month just to remove unused entries.  All the other machines get a clean up once a year when they are physically cleaned as well.
