Hi

I'm trying to install eCS 2.0 on a
Mainboard Intel DH55TC
Intel i5 750 CPU
2GB DDR 3 RAM
USB keyboard and Mouse

The ecs 2.0o Boot CD works fine. I had to go to "Boot for meny with own values" and select "Modern hardware, ACPI Mode" otherwise it traps 0000d if I run the default options.

After configuring the pre-boot options (the USB keyboard works fine), I press F10 to continue and it start to boot.

It shows me:
Processors Initialized: 1
Integrated ACPI Support Driver for eComStation v 3.10
Copyright (c) netlabs.org 2005-2010

It stays there for a while, then it turn off the keyboard (I notice that beucase it turns off the num-bloq light) and loads...
Unicode Translate Table....

Since it turns down the USB keyboard I can not go forward when it asks me to check the disk.

Any tips? (beside getting a PS2 keyboard)

Thanks

Hi Martin

Sounds like the BIOS option for USB keyboards is Enabled as the keyboard is working *before* the OS/2 USB Keyboard driver loads.

I am wondering if loading that driver is causing the problem. You could uncheck the USB Keyboard driver in the eCS2.0 pre-boot menu and see if that resolves the problem.

An alternative to purchasing a PS/2 keyboard - and a bit cheaper: Purchase a USB to PS/2 adapter. I am using 1 of these successfully with a wireless Logitech USB keyboard (the marking on it indicates that it is for a mouse) as it gets around the USB keyboard problems.

Regards

Pete

Thanks Pete.

I didn't modified the BIOS, I follow first your advice of disabling USB on the eCS configuration menu. And It worked. Passing the "Processon Initialized:1" dialog was even faster and it allowed me with the USB keyboard to select the option for the disk integrity check.

I will see how it goes further.

Thanks.
