Hi, moving on from my last post, I am making progress, it appears I may well need OS/2 Access Feature Version 6.1.

Does anyone have any idea where this may be downloaded from. I believe our IBM account manager has scoured the 'world' for it, he has even tried the India Outpost Region, whatever that may be, so it sounds like it's not avaiable anywhere. This is my last attempt and I am hopefull this forum has enough following to assist.

All the best.

Hi,

I'm afraid that can't be downloaded somewhere but will check the FTP sites at IBM once I'm back home.
Anyway - what is that "access feature" stuff and what's it used for?
Perhaps this could be replaced by something else like Personal Communications...?

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks for your prompt replies Thomas,

What I am trying to do is re-configure the OS/2 PC (IBM3995 C28 Optical jukebox controller) to use SNA over TCP/IP as opposed to pure SNA. I have created the relevant configuations, although in all documentation I have seen it does reference the need to have Access Feature Version 6.1, I currently have V4.1 installed.

Here's a link to the IBM configuration doc I am following http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/optical/anynet/anynet.html

IBM seem not to support this area of the 3995 Jukebox, however we still have a very expensive full maintenance contract with them.

I will be trying the Install tomorrow morning to see at what point it forces me to install V6.1 or at what point it completely fails.

Your help is really appreciated, I have exhausted all avenues. I have a lot of experience with SNA and TCP/IP and the AnyNet (MPTN) capability so I don't see that part as difficult, it's just the complete lack of availabilty of documented OS/2 components that are required.

Once again, thanks for you prompt reply a location for accessing V6.1 would be absolutely ideal.

Best Regards.

I have Communication Server software from 1996 Version 4.1.  It is capable of, among other functions, using SNA over TCP/IP and vice versa.  Please see back scan at http://www.chingonazo.com/Communications_Server_V4.png

At the moment I have the documentation all over my place but the CD media was saved and kept in an safe place and it is in like new condition.

Although I am aware that Warp Server for E-Business came with additional software besides the operating system, I will check and see if I can find something newer.  This last point I emphasize because you will find the following on the scan above:

The OS/2 and Windows Access Features provide multiprotocol and application programming interface support for desktop PCs connected to the Server.  The OS/2 Access feature also provides local and wide area connectivity support for applications.  Access Features, packaged with the Server, are optionally installable and separately priced.
