Oops, I speak, read and write English only.  :-[

So, can someone please add the English translation.

Thank you.  ;)

Try Google Translation... though I am not sure what interest there would be in "OS/2 User Group Sweden" for you... Kim is pretty good about bring relevant information & discussions into the rest of the forum, and I suspect you are not part of the "OS/2 User Group Sweden" ;)

This thread is about where we can find OS2 system still used; but suggest that we break out this to a new thread and make a ref to original.

Quick follow-up based on what was said in the Swedish thread; here in Sweden you once a while stumbles over a few OS2 Communication Servers in banks and insurance companies still. As well, Jep ref that he has seen OS2 used when calibrating pacemakers. Also, I've earlier been involved in a hospital journal system called BMS Journal System, used widely among hospitals in Stockholm region.

Many thanks "kimhav" for this rather interesting "thread" and "post" in relation to

also, it would be neat if some hints can be provided as to how the

can now (if possible) be outfitted

Communications Manager/2 for OS/2 stopped production a very long time ago. It was also unrelated to that project. That project is also unrelated to this thread as it has nothing to do with where eCS-OS2 is used.

Just my understanding of the matter.

Also, as a side note, the "QUOTE" option is best used when quoting someone as opposed to breaking up one sentence into what looks like 3 or 4 quotes with comments between. Less confusing, and easier to read that way.

Try this

That wouldnt have taken 3 readings by me to figure out who was being quoted, where from, what it meant and how it was tied into this thread.

In case you had not noticed... the objective was to preserve the "words/wording of the respective author/s" (IBM/Lotus in this case); and, the below referenced URL was the source in this particular case:

Then again, since I may have flunked out of college... why try to get this "most interesting" thread started by "kimhav" off-topic; and, I am quite sure that you have more important things to do other than reading/commenting on nearly all of my posts. I do know that I am being watched by not only you; so, why make it so obvious.

Now, can we get on with the topic of this thread.  8)

Thanks.

Actually, I've got 600 posts, am in the Top 5 Topic Starters, have the second highest time online, and in the last week, have posted in over a dozen threads (most of which you are not involved in). So, stop taking every action here personally and

Two particularly interesting areas where OS/2-eCS were being used; and, perhaps very much so were: (1). Engineering Maintenance; and, (2). Genealogy. And, while talking about genealogy... this was apparently one of the reasons that it was felt that I would have been able to hit "two birds" with "one stone"; and, here is how: (1). Make it possible for any of my ancestral linkages to be able to trace "our" family roots using this particular application which runs on OS/2; see the below attached link:

Quote

http://www.genealogymagazine.com/luckhoo.html

and (2). Hopefully, get them (all or most of them) hooked on OS/2-eCS (a "baiting" and "switch" tactic/game more of less).  ;D ;) ;D

Does anyone within the OS/2-eCS community have any knowledge about the "latest updates" of any of the applications mentioned above?

Thank you very much.  ;)

Kindest regards.

Not sure if I really understood your post.  Anyway, if you're looking for a genealogy program that runs on OS/2 and is actively developed and maintained, then you may want to try the Gendatam Suite.  This is the home page of the app:

This was exactly the kind of response being sought; and, you have gotten it correctly. It is believe that there are a few more of these "genealogy" related applications out there that runs on OS/2; and, they (Gendatam) have spelled it out quite clearly here:

Hi SAB,

whenever you need such information (related somehow to 'marketing')... go Russia! ;)

Hello "warpcafe";

It is really nice to see you come out to "play"... As you know New York is home to OS/2 , and, are the "Giants" that won the last football championship; so, I sure you understand the spirit in which the "sales" and "marketing" of OS/2 and related Applications + Services are being undertaken. What took you so long to realize that we an an actual OS/2 Distribution.  ;D

And; yes, "serious" we are indeed with the prices of food, gas, rent et cetera, et cetera all going up around us; unfortunately, I cannot speak for the country that you live in.

BTW, the name "BETERVERWAGTING" (Dutch) is the place in Guyana, South America in which I have "deep" roots; and, more interestingly I have read in recent times (and, light of the world demand for food and petroleum products) there are estimated large deposits of the "black gold" of Guyana's coast and you can read about it for yourself here:

So, sure enough your reminder of "Examples of solutions based on OS/2" is much appreciated; and, all the more reasons (in particular the potential oil wealth) I will be searching for; and, staying close to my "roots" in order to get my share to share in any oil bonanza... ;D You can also bet the "farm" that I would have vested interest in any potential Service Level Agreements (SLAs).  ;D

Thanks for your timely reminders "warpcafe".  ;)

Have a great day.

Regards.

Here is one potential user company that may be off the "OS/2 Users' Radar Screen"

Hello "kimhav" et al!

Pardon my lack of knowledge of the ownership of the Scandinavian company "SWECO" which (as far as my memory will allow me) carried out some consultancy work on the Hydro-Electric potential in Guyana (re: the Multi-Billion Dollar Upper Mazaruni Hydro-Electric Project) more than two (2) decades ago. Is this a Swedish or Finnish owned company. The interest in this particular company being - On what Operating System (IT infrastructure...) et cetera et cetera were/are their operations based (for example; Windows, OS/2-eCS...) in order to offer these consultancy services around the world. ;)

Thank you.

Kindest regards.
