In fact I'm using a WIFI connection, but it's the only one I have, so if I'm loosing packets,, we are f..ed

How so, when you can just burn the files to a CD and mail the damn thing to some like "Kim Haverblad", (or someone else at the OS/2 World Foundation), "Saijin_Naib"... who would then upload it to wherever...! ???

Just my two cents.

Also,

QuoteLeonardo, did you upload the file ?
The DIINO share appears to be empty.

Alternatively, how about copying the files to USB Sticks and mailing them out to interested testers/parties?

Don't you think thats a large expense for Leonard to undertake on his own? Lets keep this in channels that will not necessitate the spending of money by any parties.

Hi "Saijin_Naib",

The fact that there were two particular bounties posted here: (1) Native port of SWT to OS/2; and, (2) Port of Lotus Notes 8.0 to OS/2. So, how about having the OS/2 World Foundation picking up the tabs for this part/aspect of the project.

And, the gut feeling is - watch how quickly the "donations" roll in behind this native port of SWT to OS/2... once the request is made.  ;)

Best regards.

After a lot of thought I came to the conclusion that a better alternative to send the whole image will be to work on the branch for a OpenWatcom version. Work was started by Lee last year. I wasn't very into helping him at the time, since there was so much else to do and I had a working environment.

Now I reached a point where I can't move forward without  help and so doing a port in a free compiler sounds like it will help people to jump in ( :-\ ). Anyway, I tried to follow Lee's instruction and I was able to compile the sources using Java 1.4.1 GC for the Java code and OpenWatcom for the C stuff. I know Java 141 GC is not free, but that's an issue a lot easier to deal with than VAC++ 4.0

So there you have it, you can download the sources from Netlabs SVN and then at my blog I can help anyone that wants help.

Also I'll be checking out the possibility of being part of the Eclipse.org and committing the work there, that way we "maybe2 we can get help from the eclipse community.

PS2. I'm not doing this for money or the bounty or a business case, I do it because is fun and because I like OS/2 and Java, that's it

Hi,

I'm busy on other things now, so I made available for download my test build of swt 3.3.4.9 with odin sdk:

http://web.os2power.com/download/swt-332.zip (6.5MB)

the zip includes swt.jar and full source code. To rebuild you need odin sdk tree and gcc 3.3.5.
This build is tested only against my personal Odin build tree, and surely it crashes when handling bmp images (here I have hacked gdi32 to not use memory mapping for reading files).

I'm not going to work on  it in the short time, but if someone wants to build it, I'll reply here.

I think that this strategy is a very wise move.  ;)
