eSchemes and WPS Wizard together

There now appears to be a problem with WPS Wizard and eSchemes working together.  For some reason, starting a theme or double clicking on a scheme can cause the eComStation default icons to be copied to the theme.  The result is that the eScheme no longer works.  I have found that if one makes the eScheme "readonly", this does not happen and the theme works as it should.

If this happens, download and copy the themes from the eCO site and place in the scheme palette folder.  Then make all the schemes readonly to use.

Thanks for the heads up, David.

I'll give that a try today and see if that holds true here as well.

Hi Ben

Here is another scheme combining eSchemes and WPS Wizard.

BlackIsBlack eScheme
kde crystal diamond purple

If anyone likes the background, I will upload it to the Gallery Section.  The background is 1440x900.

Another example.

blackisblack escheme
darkglass-red wps wizard scheme

You can use whatever escheme you want.

If anyone likes the background I made, I will upload it to the gallery section.  Again it is 1440x900.

I was wondering is I could make a Scheme Palette folder like eSchemes creates for the WPS Wizard Schemes to make its schemes just as easy to switch.

It is possible and makes switching between WPS Wizard schemes easy.  It involves a little bit of work, but it is worth it.

How to do it?

1. Download the following program and install.  It has a Warpin install.

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/wps/xshadow-1-1-1.zip

2. Make a desktop folder callled "WPS Wizard Scheme Palette" or whatever you choose to name it.

3. Go to the folder that contains the first scheme you want and follow the example.

example:

Switch to KDE_crystal_diamond_aqua folder.
Drag the "set-icon-theme" to the WPS Wizard Scheme Palette folder making it a shadow.
Now "Alt mouse click" on the cmd file and name it any name your want.  In my case, I name it KDE-Crystal-Diamond-Aqua. Click the desktop to save.

Go to the next theme and repeat the method used in the example.

Now you have a scheme Palette for you WPS Wizard themes.

Just double click on the scheme you want to install it.  It is that easy.

I created another desktop background and uploaded to the gallery section.

I installed the Mac_like escheme and and the darkglass flatwhite WPS Wizard theme to this new background.

Hey David, I am working on a background right now, I am not sure if you can find a use for it in a scheme of yours, but I was hoping maybe you could?

Good job on the background.  I just downloaded and installed and it looks good!

One thing.  eCS supports PNGs for desktop backgrounds.  I have found it best to do the pics in PNG format instead of JPG.  Sometime the JPG picture will blur where the PNG graphic will not.

Ah, true, forgot about that david, the PNG is what I work with in Paint.net (where I made this) and I was going to post it, but its nearly 10x the size. I will replace the JPG with the PNG right now.

Thanks David, glad to see its okay. I have other things I want to do with it, and feel free to modify it to your liking. I am using a greyscale version right now on XP with my Moonlight skin and it looks sick :) I use the colored one on eCS.

Would you mind if I include the spike background in my BlackIsBlack escheme?

If you noticed, I like my icons on the right side of the screen.  Being right handed, I always start with the right side and move left.  I have never liked the way Windows puts everything on the left side of the screen.

No, go right ahead! Just mention I made it if you would, I plan on doing more if you'd like.

I see your point, but I function by reading top left to right and down like a book, so all my icons are typically in a small cluster in the top left where my eyes start. The right hand of the screen is typically reserved for tall applications like my buddy list or a text editor or a media player, etc.

Here is my Luna Style with Spikes-Black, which may or may not go better with your BlackIsBlack scheme. You can just do a simple desaturate on the colored spikes.

Thanks.  You are mentioned in the index.sch of the BlackIsBlack.sch..  I like the original for my purposes.  What you ought to do is make a gallery of your desktop graphics in the gallery section.
