I checked the site on installing eCS onto the EEE PC and some of the files that are needed are only available to software subscribers. I am hoping that Serenity Systems will consider selling eCS 2.0 (the one for non software subcribers) on a SD card. Then it will work with my EEE PC (I hope). Until then, I will use some other OS on it.  :(

Hey BWG, I heard rumblings (Here, newsgroup, somewhere?) that Serenity were looking into making an eeePC specific release of 2.0GA either on SD cards or on SSDs that can be swapped into the computer. I'll have to look further to find this source, but cant at present being pressed with work due at 4.

If the SSD is in the form of an mini-pci-e card, I will be inline to get one. :)

I used the above site and software to create a bootable usb drive that boots to dos/win98. I have used xcopy to copy files from the ReactOS install cd to the usb drive. I will try to do that with the same with my eCS 1.2r cd. Perhaps load the second cd onto a different usb drive.  8)

I wonder what the "Windows Cloud" experience would look like.  ???

Probably like a storm cloud? or an electrical storm that interferes with everything? :)

I booted the usb drive (on the EEE PC) but it would not run the ROS since it is in DOS. I might have the same problem with eCS since it boots to DOS. I have another usb cd drive on order to try it that way.

If SS does have eCS on an SD card, it would be alot easier to either install it from the SD card or run it from the SD card. :) I hope it does not cost too much more from the cd version.  8)

I tried a different usb cd drive. I had used fdisk with the win98 boot usb drive (boots dos). I set the mini-pci-e as 'd'. I used the eCS 1.2r installation cd. It got to the point where it says 'insert the eCS isntallation disc then press any key'. I pressed any key since it is in the usb cd drive but it kepted repeating the message. I tried it again but it would not even show what it did the first time it tried.  :(

It would be neat if SS really did have eCS 2.0 on a sd card.  ;D I will keep trying to install eCS on my EEE 701a.  8)

Hi BigWarpGuy,

as you may have read I installed it on a 1000H. You should try to follow the instructions already given to the Medion Akoya here and the 701 at eeeuser.com, this should lead to a result.

I am wondering why you try so many different ways instead of this? ???
