Okidata C5510MFP
« on: 2008.10.18, 00:21:22 »
Hi, I have an Okidata C5510MFP, is eCs able to print out of this machine. I have it hooked up via USB and over a network, so I have 2 options for input. It is a multi function machine, but I don,t care all that much for scanning, mostly make photo copies with it.

Thanks Bob

Just waiting for eCS to have all the features................

Hi Bob

All I could spot on the Okidata site were Windows drivers - not even Mac OSX drivers - so the basic answer is No; Unless...

1] An existing OMNI driver works - could take a bit of experimenting to find that out

2] If you can find a CUPS compatible PPD file for the printer then you would probably be able to print using eCUPS (CUPS for eCS - OS/2) from here http://svn.netlabs.org/ecups/wiki/WikiStart

If I was you I would start with 2] as eCUPS looks like it will be the future printing system on eCS.Shame the current eCUPS package does not include a PPD already... maybe a Google will help

Regards

Pete
