This appl. .. .

Is it possible to work around to use the above usb pc camera within an icq messenger-like app?
Is it a step forward to the use of OS/2 - eCS as a instant messaging platform with voice chat and webcam capabilities. If so it is, we may rearrange the Bounty Thread:  http://www.os2world.com/content/view/335/71/
Any comments?

First of all where to buy those things, in local stores seller's newer heard about such manufacturer. :(
Second, wich one: on Sonix site there are many video cam models http://www.sonix.com.tw/sonix/family.do?f=3, on 'Sonix USB PC Camera for OS/2 (and eComStation)' site aren't mentioned wich model is supported ?

cyber, the site you linked to is that of a designer of integrated circuits for audio and video.  That means their ICs could be in any number of products under various brand names.  It also means that the driver could be generic for most of the sonix ICs, so we would need to know which devices they were in and which work.

If the 'Sonix USB PC Camera for OS/2 (and eComStation)' is a generic driver then it should be possible to use both still and video cameras that use the chips, which means that webcams, at least some, would work with OS/2.

This is than even more confusing in sense of getting to buy one of these, those "brand names" usualy doesn't point wich "chipset" they use ?
