First, a minor correction (missing blank)
SET COPYFROMFLOPPY=1
Next, make copies of your installation diskettes, get new HD drivers and edit CONFIG.SYS on your installation diskettes. You will need not only danis506r185.zip but also daniatatapi040.zip and danidasd144.zip from hobbes.nmsu.edu . You need to replace (or add):
- add the SET statement above to your config.sys
- replace ibm1s506.add by danis506.add - the simplest way is copying danis506.add over the original driver and keeping the original driver name. You need not edit the corresponding line in the config.sys.
- replace os2dasd.dmd by the driver from the zip file
- replace ibmatapi.flt by daniatapi.flt from the zip file. Again, copy over the original driver and keep the driver
name.
Replacing only danis506.add does not suffice on old versions of OS/2. You need to replace all drivers mentioned above. Also, you will run out of free space on the diskette - delete tedit.exe (a text editor) from the diskette. If you haven't an SCSI machine then you can delete SCSI drivers as well: delete the ones which relate to particular hardware, like AHA152X.ADD and so on, until you get enough space.
It should work

In the old days, I run W4 with a 13 GB hard disk. Naturally, with Daniela's drivers, the original drivers shipped with W4 were useless to me. The possible problem can be with versions of the drivers. Perhaps, you will need some older wersions. The older versions are not on Hobbes.
