Dear users, we a. .. .

I'm TP_mania, by the OS/2 user in Japan.
It almost acts only in Japan.

This site has been read for several years every day because there is necessary information even if it is not good at English.
Because there was an interesting article several days ago, the desire that wanted to put the respond a little was born, and it registered.
It is a newcomer even if it has read for several years.  :D

The multiple posting that the relation is not seemingly in OS/2 and eCS to extend over yesterday's each forum was seen.
I thought, I was "User in another platform where it did not know OS/2". It was thought that the problem might have been solved by the thing that the writing was deleted this morning all.
The user deleted it by himself/herself. Or, whether it had been deleted pointing out, "It is wrong writing" was thought that either.

However, the stance "Suspect a new user once" is a little regrettable.
I ..new user.. do not pass on this site now. Still, OS/2 was used belatedly for ten years.
Perhaps, I do not think that the thing that will be quite written in the future is difficult, and the post frequency increases easily.

However, it is possible to think about the thing that there is a user with a difficult thing that English quite writes well, too and it is happy.

Hello and welcome,  Your english is really strange, sometimes like translated haiku  ;), but keep in mind that for lot of people here english isn't native language. So Youre aren't alone. :)

Probably TP_mania would like to say he is not a spammer.

I know he is a heavy OS/2 user in Japan and a long-time visitor to this site.
But he had never posted anything to this forum due to his English skill.
Finally he made his first post the day before yesterday, but what a bad timing,
this site-announcement was posted soon after and it said
"advise: do not respond to posts from a newbie".

Ya...I would say something if I'm in his position  :)

TP_mania, please do not be discouraged by the fact your English is not very good.  Not everyone is good at languages and there have been some English speakers on this site that are very difficult to understand when they post something.

I must echo cyber and say welcome.

Yes, we are proud to have someone from Japan here.  I've noticed some users/2 and developers (QueenCy!) from Japan, and always was curious about. If You keep posting here, Your english will be better, while japanese ideograms will for ever be mystery for lot of us. :)

I wish to express my gratitude for all reply.

Your English is much better than my Japanese :)

Cheers,

Hi TP_mania,

the message did not mean that nobody should reply to new users.
It was only a little help for the members here to understand if a new user is doing spam or not.
In your case it is clear that you are not spamming us. :)
You are welcome. If you have something to tell or ask and we are able to understand what you mean then your English is perfectly OK. If we don't understand, we will ask. That is what communication is meant for.

Regards,
Thomas

Often, that is me. Sometimes I start rambling, and when I am done, *I* dont even know what I was trying to say. Hence my numerous edits of my own posts to try to make them make sense and seem intelligent.

Welcome to (posting in) the forums!! Stick around, post often, and enjoy!

Best,
Rob

Can only comply with what you say Robert (not that you're a bad writer) but that I also find myself posting something that needs to be re-edited. But, that is also one of the reason why we really want to keep open mind in the forum to get everybody to post without the fear of being deleted, edited or banned for that matter. And usually it's easy to figure out what is spam or serious attempt to post questions or share one thoughts about something.

This community do need to stick together and by that we also need to encourage each other.

This is very close but and so different with spam. Many russians members open topics on russian and write with cyrlic letter, but this is forum on english language. If they want to write on russian, they are free to send request to any of us to open russian user group...I know russian language, but my browser doesn't recognize russian letters and I don't know what they write on forum...

Hi Bojan89,
what do you mean by "my browser doesn't recognize russian letters"?
Do you have an example of a webpage with cyrillic letters that can't be read?

Cheers/2

Hi Bojan89

Sounds like you need to install a unicode font and use that in the browser; I use Arial Unicode MS (aka ARIALUNI.TTF) in browser, Preferences, Serif.

I would give you a url to download this large font package but it seems the site I downloaded it from no longer exists...

Hi Pete, Bojan89

I don't have Arial Unicode MS on my systems. Instead, I'm using Times New Roman MT30 configured as Default Font on the Options page of firefox. File tnrmt30.cmb is part of the eCS installation. I don't have any problems viewing web pages with cyrillic characters when using Character Encoding UTF-8.
