this posting is very old. somehow the wrong text slipped in. the right text should have been:

Qt4 Progress

The Qt4 port is doing a lot of progress lately. We already reached the second milestone (QtCore beta). This milestone took a bit longer than expected. Due to that fact we moved the QtGui beta milestone one week to the future. The Qt GA milestone was not moved so far.
Look at the Qt4 Trac at netlabs, there is the roadmap and the milestones shown ( http://svn.netlabs.org/qt4/roadmap ). If you want to see also the completed milestones enter: http://svn.netlabs.org/qt4/roadmap?show=all .

I'm very confident, that the project succeeds. But go get there we still
need some sponsor units. To buy sponsor units please follow the link
http://www.mensys.com/NetlabsQT4 .

To see the actual sponsored units look at http://qt.netlabs.org .

Many thanks to all who helped to get Qt4 reality.

Martin,

when i look at the Bounty System i see a lot of dead Bountys, which have money attached. I my opinion it would be good to transfer such money to an active Bounty, or an active Project. I saw in the forum also other ppl requesting that.

please consider such a thing, as QT really needs some more money.

Hi,

I second Silvans idea!
IIRC I had given some money for a port of Truecrypt. If it was possible to withdraw that, I would give it to the QT port... might need to check with other sponsors though.

cheers,
Thomas

...generally a good idea to shift money from "dead" bounties to real projects. But be careful, maybe some developers have already spent some efforts in projects. So we have to ask the donators and define some time limit for appeal before we shift money to other projects.

The Qt4 port is still doing a lot progress, but we could not reach the
Beta target as we hoped. The first Beta should be out within a week. The
main reason we could not get there was, that the Qt4 font handling
changed completely, so this was much more work than we had expected.
Nevertheless we are almost through with it. The Qt GA milestone will be
moved to a doable date as soon as the Beta is out. We don't think that
the GA will be more than 4 weeks after the Beta is out. We are still
confident, that a 3 to 4 week delay is not that much for such a big project.

the Qt4 beta is out. If you see problems in building it take svn revision 153. this revision builds nicely.

if it still does not work open a ticket at svn.netlabs.org/qt4

Hi,

It looks very nice.
Is it to much to wish for e.g. OS/2-eCS notebook, buttons and container control?

Would be nice if a new FileDialog as discussed in another thread could be implemented and used at some point.

4 wheels developed once, not 4 different wheels developed 4 times that look, fell and run differently and can't be used together.

The second Beta is out.

There are still some issues, but in general it's working good.

For more infos see http://svn.netlabs.org/qt4

I'm still confident that we finish the project with all your help.

diver

the Beta3 is out. Again a lot of progress and some bugs fixed also.

see: http://svn.netlabs.org/qt4 for more info.

a announcement will follow tomorrow.

Diver, just a question.

qt-all-opensource-src-4_5_1-os2-beta3.zip is all the source code right ?

Do you have a link to the compiled executables of QTLinguistic ?

I want to try it out.
