Lightning is. .. .

Excellent! I've been waiting for this release for a while; but how big is the possibility that we also will see a release of Sunbird? I kind of prefer running this kind of application as a stand alone and not as part of Thunderbird.

Hrm... I rest my case and will try to follow the news flow a bit better; noticed an earlier posting now regarding Sunbird.

What am I missing:  I have upgraded both Firefox and Thunderbird to ver. 2.0.0.5, but am having trouble figuring out how to install the Lightning extension for TBird.  If I use Firefox to download, I get the 'install' button, but of course it fails with the message that Lightning doesn't go with Firefox.   In Thunderbird, clicking 'add-ons' under the tools message, and then 'get extensions' doesn't produce anything.  Do I use some separate FTP program to download...and if so, where should it be put, etc. etc.  Thanks for any pointers.   John

In firefox : click the download link with the right mouse button, select "Save as..", and select a folder where you want to download it.
Then in Thunderbird go to Tools --> Add-ons and click "Install", select the folder where you saved the file before with firefox and click "OK".
