I have only done one file but I converted the midi file to wav with timidity and then used AVxCAT to convert to MP3.
I used:
timidity -Ow -o output.wav input.mid

Are you able to play the midi with Timidity?  I had to install the pat files.

I did new test this morning after my pc was rebooted and the conversion is ok now.
May be I did something wrong  ::)

Currently, I added timidity support into my local test build.
To make it easy to use, I load a config file under avxcat dir with timidity parms (except those required)
This may allow add parms to load an external timidity config file or add "s 44100" etc...
The single (I hope) command used may allow to convert midi into any other audio codec with ffmpeg help
It looks promising but I have to resolve one "needed missing information" I asked timidity author about howto get it...   (midi estimated time without any conversion process)

Those been interested buy a test build as soon it is ready could send me an email with subject (avxcat - timidity test).

Kind regards
Remy

Ok, timidity problem resolved.
My first tests work very well. Nice

MID => any supported ffmpeg audio/video codec

If some of you are interested into testing this build, i can send the updated parts.
Please send me a "PM" personnal message under OS2WORLD and I'll send you the exe file + additional timidity.cat which may be used by avxcat only

Kind regards,
Remy

Hi Andy,

Right here:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/apps/mmedia/sound/util/id3v2-0.1.12-os2.zip

Oddly, Hobbes' search tool does not seem to show it on the quick search.

Best,
Robert

you have a direct llink on my web site " D3V2 0.1.12 (NEW) or up program for id3 V2 tags (required) "
It is hyperlink ( click on it )

Or,

At end of AVxCAT installation, a web page opens with all hyperlink to any required or optional products as well as gcc dll if needed !

I use firefox and have the "hand" when going over the link !

The text that refers to the ID3V3 tagging utility:

"Note: Téléchargez la nouvelle version de ID3V2 (par Andy Willis) - Download the new required build of ID3V3 (by Andy Willis)"

is not a link.

I am using Firefox 3.6.13

I have all the rest from following the links for "Required programs (mandatory)"

Hi, this is a "note" followed by major links !!

Under this text you'll have :

Historique des modifications - ChangeLog: changelog.Readme

Programmes requis - Required programs (mandatory)
# eCS V2 (suggested level)
# Warpin 1.0.19 (install tool)
# FFMPEG (required)
# Priority from FM2UTILS package (strongly suggested)
# ogginfo, ogg.dll, vorbis.dll from package (required)
# ID3V2 0.1.12 (NEW) or up program for id3 V2 tags (required)     <<<<< Here it is !
# rxu.dll from package (required)
# Some other dll's already included into the WPI package

So, you did right
(I updated my site "note" to point to below text link)
Cheers
Remy

"Here it is !" is referring to ID3V2.

The note refers to ID3V3.

Perhaps the note is incorrect with respect to the version number.

Andy Staszko.

Hi Yes !

I apology, it is a typo error and should be ID3V2 like in the french text... I corrected it now.
Thanks having carefully read information (better as I wrote it)

Cheers

Remy,

How do we go about reporting bugs in the GUI?

Here's just a couple:
1. Output target directory is severly limited in text length.
2. In the dialog for adding files (video so far - I haven't used the audio yet),
there is no mechanism for multiple selection or selecting all for addition.

To report bugs:
Use help -> write to the author option

1/ Righ, it has a default value of 32. I just changed it. Thanks.
2/ Multiple selection was always there since the first ffmpegca build !
I always use it. You can use keyboard method or slide the mouse with the button pressed above files to select .... (drag/drop between internal filemanager and process list works too)
The only case where multiple selection is not allowed is when adding directories

Could you please test this build (target length path is corrected)

note: remove blanks in the linkname

alstaszko

Your'e right about multiple selections using keyboard, but not with the mouse.

I'll give the new one a try tomorrow - it's a bit late right now.
