Hi Moby and others,

I have quite an urgent need of Moby's tool since the USERID/PASSWORD lan account on my OS/2 box is not working anymore and I'll need the tool to have a user to access User Management.

So if anyone of you is online and already having it, I'll take it with a big smile :-)

Please send it to: s_p_o_u_t_n_i_k <<<at>>> hotmail.com

Thanks

Please search the web for "Rexx Tips & Tricks password" and you'll find a script that can tell you the currently set password.
The problem you may face is that rexx doesn't load if you go to the command line with Alt + F1, but there's also some info about that on the net.

Hi Jan,

I think that trick is for the OS/2 WPS lockup password, not for the LAN account?

Anyway, I'll send the util to those who have requested it...

Regards,

Moby

Quite right,
sorry,
Yes, that's the WPS password.

I know this is a late reply, but there is an easy way to fix the LAN password problem.  I've forgotten my password a few times and have done this a lot:

1. Reboot and when the "OS/2" message appears, press Alt-F1.
2. Drop to the command prompt (use original CONFIG.SYS).
3. Replace C:\IBMLAN\ACCOUNTS\NET.ACC with C:\IBMLAN\INSTALL\NET.ACC.
4. Reboot.
5. After Peer has been started, log on using USERID/PASSWORD and you'll have access to Peer again as administrator.

Again, a late reply, but this is good for the LAN stuff.  Never used the screensaver but can't help there.
