Hello,

I shared a folder between a host (windows xp) and a guest VM (OS/2).
I use the the commande net use x: \\host_name\shared.
But after a time, I loose the connection. I think there is a timeout connection.

Another problem, although net use work, net view doesn't work. On the host, net view doesn't list the guest and on the guest net view doesn't list himself and the host.
The two computer are on the same domain (WORKGROUP), IBM OS/2 NETBIOS OVER TCP/IP is add, and IBMLAN.INI is configured.

Thanks for your help

All it work but after 10 mins, I have a timeout connection and I loose it.

A few questions.

What VM are you using?

Why are you using net use?  Most VMs allow shared folders.

My experience is the other way round - XP guest on OS/2 host - and all I do is share the folder in the settings and it appears in explorer when XP has started.

Most of VMs do not, Ivan - as long as the guest is OS/2. VPC does but VPC is now offside, because VPC isn't compatible with PAE. VBox does not. I am not sure whether VMWare does, but VMWare is paid. Establishing some kind of communication between OS/2 guest and winblows or Debian host is a problem.

A friend of mine has encountered the same problem as csanouk. OS/2 guest, winblows XP host, VirtualBox, no shared folders for OS/2. He also tried communicating over net using NETBIOS. He also succeeded in establishing a connection but the connection was slow and it terminated after some, not so long, time. I wasn't able to help.

Perhaps, somebody knows more.

Thanks for all.
It work now.
For information I use VBox with OS2.
I must configure in MPTS "Name List" and "Broadcast List" to prevent timeout connection.
