"If you're wondering why Mac OSX won't just work on a typical PC, like Windows and DOS and Linux and Unix and OS/2 and ... well you get the idea... all other Intel-based operating systems, the answer may surprise you. It's not an incompatibility issue; it's intentional interference from Apple."

They are talking about MAC OSX being cracked. It mentions OS/2 in the article as one of the os's that 'just work on a typical pc'.   ;D

8)  I came across it at http://www.tomshardware.com .

Yeah. I think apple could seriously harm MS market share if they released os x that can run on any intel box. But I think a large part of it is that it's too hard for them to provide hardware drivers for all of the different generic pc devices, whereas if they limit support to just mac specific intel hardware they only have to program for limited device drivers.

But.. it doesn't matter to me as i'm stickin with ECS :)!

Ditto. I will stick with eCS as long as  I can.  8)

I have read - at sites that try to install MAC OS X on non-Apple hardware - that it is not exactly legal to do so. There is mention of an agreement. This is has not stopped some from trying.

There are some - in the 'other operating systems' section - who trying to install MAC OS X on the EEE PC (I have some posts on installing eCS on the EEE PC  ;D ).

The EULA for MAC OS X doesn't allow you to run it on anything but Apple hardware but that is being challenged in a bug way right now: http://www.informationweek.com/news/hardware/mac/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=207801251
