Hey all,

I am looking for copies (with license keys, etc) of BOTH of the following for OS/2:

  • VisPro/REXX (latest)
  • Watcom VX/REXX (latest)

Anyone have a copy lying around that they wish to sell, please post a response, PM me or email me.

Thanks,
Robert

Where are you located (country)?  And have you found a copy of either yet?  I once had VisPro Rexx but sold it (sadly). I'm working through my collection now to locate my VX-Rexx packages...

Hi Robert ,

I can give you the ISO of the floppy disk of Vispro Rexx Gold 3.0 for OS/2. Please reply to my email id .

Regards

Paul

Bah!

I have a copy of Watcom VX/REXX version 1.01, but my floppies got trashed in a minor flood and my computer can no longer read them. I actually have the two branded floppies sitting on my desktop for these past few months, looking mournful and souless. 8((

If anyone has a copy of those floppies that they could zip and send to me, I'd surely appreciate it.

My apologies, RobertM, I know this doesn't help you, but I had to vent a little out of respect for the dead.

Hello Ben,

I own Watcom VXRexx Client/Server Version 2.1.
Does this help you?

Thomas

MikeG

Guess they won't release the source to Watcom VX/REXX?

Greetings, Mike.

My guess is that it would help me, or at least I'd like to try.

I've sent you a PM.

HI,

would you (MikeG) refresh VX/REXX if they do?

I'd like to see a new version of VX/REXX though I've never used it, but got a hunch that it'll be a success, especially if we'd get NOM (Netlabs SOM) or IBM togheter with Netlabs would create versions of SOM for as many OSes as possible.

Am working for a company that use Sybase products SQL Anywhere... at least for a while longer.  :-\
Wonder if one could use that to pull some strings. People has mentioned that Sybase would open it up, but OpenWatcom cost them a bit more in terms of man hours than they had anticipated. ( Removing patented code etc. I guess )

Sure I would. I would guess it would not be that hard because it is probably built with Watcom. I will also guess a number of people would also help.

So, I'm up for it.

Ok Jan, I just caught the FTE comment :)

Actually, I was looking at rexx interfaces since I was planning to mess with fte again. This is how I took the diversion into this rexxutil thing - so I haven't forgotten.

Glad you noticed the subtle hint MikeG! ;D

Would be nice if FTE could work as the editor for a new version of VX-REXX.

Hmmm, I guess we need to approach Sybase the official way, anyone here that can begin to write a prposal that we can discuss before we send it to Sybase?

I can send you zip files of VisPro REXX and VisPro Reports - both excellent packages - both installable under eCS.

I strongly recommend VisPro over VX-Rexx because VisPro Objects are pure SOM objects - VX-Rexx Objects are not.
