Static I.P.'s --- need help!

Using eCS 2.0-rc4, I'm trying to set the I.P.'s on my LAN to match the static I.P.'s used when the machines are booted to Linux, In Linux this is very simple to do:

I.P.address = 192.168.1.10
Netmask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway = 192.168.1.1
DNS server1 = 192.168.0.1
DNS server2
Host name = boss.klipp.net

And everything works fine!

But dammned if I can figure out how to get them set using the TCP/IP configuration tool in eCS. I get the I.P. set correctly, but am unable to access the Internet. In the TCP/IP Configuration Notebook the first tab "Nertwork" seems obvious, I check "Enable Interface" & "Manually" -- Using I.P. =192.168.1.10 & Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0
The "Routing" tab is a complete mystery to me, I've tried different enteries and usually get a "Routing Error" during boot.
The "Host Names" seems straightforward but I've probably got that screwed up also. I have:
Computers host name:INTERNET
Local Domain Name: klipp.net
Name server address: 192.168.0.1
Lan Domain Search List: <No Entries>
"Hosts" tab = 127.0.0.1 localhost

Thanks in advance for any help.  Also would appreciate knowing if there is anywhere available, a TCP/IP  how-to, describing in "user friendly" words how to set up TCP/IP in OS2/eCS.

Well, sounds like that you got most of it right, but if the routing is wrong you won't work; assuming that you're using broadband modem of some sort I would then assume that the local DNS and Gateway should be the same and in your case you've set it to two different IP addresses, Gateway = 192.168.1.1 and DNS server1 = 192.168.0.1. If you're using a local DNS server I'll then rest my case, but if not I would guess that the DNS should be set to 192.168.1.1.

Regarding the routing tab, mine looks like this following; hope it helps out:

The only entry you need for Routing is: default, router 192.168.1.1, metric count 1.

Are you sure the address of the Nameserver is 192.168.0.1? If you do so it will reside on another subnet than your static address and eCS can't reach it. If you have a router it's easiest to set Nameserver address the same as Gateway and let the router forward to a "real" Nameserver. If you don't have a router, do you know which Nameserver your ISP is using?
