Brian Proffit wrote device drivers for OS/2 1.1, was product planner for OS/2 2.0-2.2. He wrote the OS/2 Warp Survival Kit, and spoke at conferences about OS/2, wrote articles for IBM OS/2 Developer, OS/2 Magazine, and PC Magazine.

IBM Entry Systems Division, Boca Raton, Florida: Proffit was a senior programmer in OS/2 software developer strategy. He was responsible for OS/2 developer tools. He joined the IBM development laboratory in Boca Raton in 1983, after working as a systems engineer with IBM Dallas.
