Hailing Frequency

Tremendous job, and excellent insights. I especially appreciated the insights on the new Merlin. I truly hope it does support Windows 95 stuff, so I can dump 95 on my desktop. It crashes or jams up nearly every three days. My OS/2 Warp on my laptop, hasn't crashed or had any problems since the summer, when I pushed my memory too far. Hey, what can I say I believe in adventure. I'm a Warped person, I have rights you know, so pushing the limits of endurance is half the fun of computers. Not with 95 though, I'm lucky to run four programs at a time without it crashing. With Warp I've ran as many as eight or more. It seems like quite a difference to me. Plus, Warp doesn't slow down like 95 does when it gets a few programs going, it still meticulously works with what's there. Again, great magazine. - Rev. Patrick Vossen

Thanks for your comments. Your letter was like of the most of the hundreds of supportive letters we received. By the way, why are you still running Windows 95 on you desktop? :) -ed.

I just found this web page and so far I like what I see. I was wondering if you could devote an article on using the setup and use of the Internet Dialer. I have been having problems getting it to contact my ISP. Until then I will have to do all of my Internet using WIN 95 (YUCK!!!!!!) - Charles St.Clair

Yuck is right. Look for this in an upcoming issue. -ed.

I just wanted to comment on your first edition of WarpOnline. It is nicely written, well done page layout and has nice articles. I really appreciated your article about this mail merge thing. Keep up the good work. - Jochen Bedersdorfer

I am glad you appreciated the mail merge article, because many people didn't. We received several letters saying that story was too basic for the magazine. We are striving to achieve a balance in what we publish: some technical articles, like this month's REXX programming article, and some basic Warp information for new users or people not familiar with the power of OS/2 Warp, like the Mail Merge article. This means that for some people an article may be too basic, but for others it is good information they were not aware of. -ed.
