If you already have Rick Yoder's Taskbar before you install EPM 6.03, you better follow my advice about taking Archives. I've encountered problems on 2 systems where I've installed EPM 6.03 after Taskbar. The 2 products operate fine together but they quarrel when it comes time to take an Archive. It seems that you need to take an extra reboot, shut down Taskbar before using EPM 6.03, and then take your Archive. If you're not taking an Archive, just ignore the errors you get at system shutdown. They look scary but I have experienced no ill effects.

At the same time I posted my comments about problems between Rick Yoder's Taskbar and EPM 6.03, I also wrote Rick a note about it. He responded to me saying that there appears to be a bug in the Workplace Shell that EPM 6.03 seems to aggravate. Taskbar is then really just a victim caught in the crossfire. Rick said he had worked out what he called an "ugly" workaround that he had been running with for about a month at the time. He said he hadn't seen any ill effects so he offered to send it to me & I gladly accepted. I've been running Taskbar 2.63 for about 3 weeks now & it seems pretty solid. (The current public release is 2.62.) But it's hard to tell whether it cures the problems I observed since they appeared only intermittently anyway. My feeling is that Rick has been entirely too nice in going out of his way to clean up somebody else's mess. If we could just get the folks who made the mess to clean it up themselves...............
