The image picture was taken with a secondary ion microscope. With this type of setup you not only see what the sample looks like you can see what elements it is made of. Picture are silver beads in green on a silicon substrate in red. The beads are less than 1 micrometer in size. The triangles and things superimposed on the image are an example of some of the basic labelling capability I have given to the program.
