These are the versions released by Microsoft . These releases differ slightly from the IBM OS/2 versions in terms of branding and driver bundles. At different times, MS OS/2 had several types of licensing and was released in different editions.

  • SDK (Standard Edition) . The version supplied with the MS OS/2 SDK .
  • OEM (Standard Edition) . Version licensed from third party computer vendors.
  • Retail (Standard Edition) . The version for ordinary users, sold at retail.
  • Retail (Server) . Retail enterprise network version. Additionally includes LAN Manager 2.1 .

Note: Microsoft OS/2 version branding does not use the Standard Edition designation. All known versions of MS OS/2 (except server ones) are functionally standard editions .

OEM Releases

Microsoft OS/2 1.0 was only released as OEM version by different manufacturers.
