I'm having concerns about several OS/2 sites around the web that stores several OS/2 applications. Those sites are usually the backup of old ftp servers and BBS servers that used to share OS/2 freeware and shareware software. Sadly this sites are disappearing without any notice from the internet.
I think it is important to have backups of this files on several places to try to reduce the risk of those files to disappear and preserve this knowledge for our OS/2 platform.
- Ideas are
- Check if those files are already on Hobbes an upload them there.
- Try to make a backup on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine (Save Page Now) and creating a record on archive.org.
- If it is an FTP server, try to backup all the files and upload it to Archive.org.
