Fault
DOS Programs appear to halt while running.
Cause
OS/2 sometimes erroneously thinks that a DOS program is idle, when in fact it's just checking for keypresses a lot. For some reason, OS/2 doesn't notice that other INT 21 calls are being issued :(
Solution
Turn off idle detection and put up with the system performance "hit". Or hold down one of the shift keys (for long jobs, a moderately heavy object can be balanced on the left control key).
