FTP Software has a rich history of providing TCP/IP networking products for the PC. As participants in the PC-IP project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the early 1980s, the founders of FTP Software were among the original developers to bring TCP/IP to the PC and Intel processor. In the early 1990s, FTP pioneered TCP/IP networking over Microsoft Windows as coauthors of the Windows Sockets specification. The PC/TCP product brought full functionality to Windows users in 1991.
