October 18, 1994

  An OS/2 Warp V3 Floppy Disk Format That Permits IBM's 3.5" Disks
  To Hold 1.84M Bytes Of Formatted Data

TAMPA, Florida, October 11, 1994 ---AMETRON TECHNOLOGIES, INC. announces
today that IBM has introduced a new media expansion software technology called
XDF (eXtended Density Format) integrated into OS/2 WARP V3. XDF dramatically
increases the amount of formatted space available on floppy disks by 28%.
IBM's 3.5" floppy disk, which previously held 1.44 M Bytes of formatted data,
will now hold 1.84 MBytes of formatted data. IBM is shipping XDF with OS/2
WARP V3 to simplify the installation process. In addition, a special copy
routine is included to allow users to create back up copies of OS/2 WARP V3
using the XDF format.

AMETRON will make the XDF technology available to application software
developers to reduce the number of disks required to create their programs.
Software developers using XDF will benefit by reducing their manufacturing
costs to produce their programs.

"AMETRON is pleased to provide IBM with a new high quality disk format
solution as part of IBM's new advanced operating system known as OS/2 WARP V3"
stated Jon Gordon, President of AMETRON.
