Installation of OS/2 from a harddisk
There are many reasons why you might want to instal OS/2 from your harddisk. some of them are.
- Its the fastest way.
- Your cant get your CDROM drive to work under OS/2.
- First you have to make a copy of \OS2IMAGE from the OS/2 CDROM to Your Harddisk. you cant do that by boot DOS, in a konfiguration that can access your CDROM Drive.
- Lets say your have booted on a dos partition called C: and your CDROM drive is called F:.
- From the root in drive C:
xcopy f:\os2image c:\os2image\*.* /s
- create a textfile called os2se20.src, in the root of drive C: with the following line.
\os2image
- Make a copy of OS/2 Disk 1.
- Edit the config.sys file on the copy of disk 1.
- Change the SET OS2_SHELL line to :
SET OS2_SHELL=sysinst2.exe C:\OS2IMAGE
- Boot on the OS/2 Installation disks. And you are now installing from your harddisk.
