PROBLEM: OS/2 2.1 hangs or traps after LOGO on DISK 1
when installing from a 3.5"/1.44MB floppy drive.
WORKAROUND: Place the files in a different sequence on DISK 1
by making a replacement copy of the disk and using
                      the replacement to install OS/2.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING DISKETTES:
                      One 3.5" (1.44) Replacement Disk 1

              - Make DISKCOPY of ORIGINAL OS/2 2.1 Disk 1 to the
                TEMPORARY DISK 1

                             N

      4) Insert TEMPORARY disk in Drive A:
In this step, files on the TEMPORARY DISK 1 (SOURCE) will be

          - Erase Bundle from TEMPORARY DISK 1
                 - At DOS A> prompt, type:
                             ERASE BUNDLE
                 - Press ENTER key
                 - When prompted to insert disk with
                    COMMAND.COM in drive A:

                                              pseudo drive)
                 - Press Enter key
                 - This process will take a lot of time due to the copying
of the diskettes. Many insertions will take place.
                 - When this above operation has completed,
insert original DISK 1 from OS/2 package:
                    OS/2 Disk 1 in Drive A:
                 - At the DOS A> prompt, type:
                              COPY A:bundle B:
                 - This time the ORIGINAL OS/2 2.1 DISK 1 is the SOURCE disk
and the REPLACEMENT DISK 1 is the TARGET disk.

      5) The REPLACEMENT DISK 1, just created should be used to
install OS/2 2.1. Please KEEP the original DISK 1 that came
with OS/2 2.1 diskettes in a safe place. However, remember
to write an note to use the REPLACEMENT DISK 1 to install
