(OS/2 Device Driver Object Code)

Do you know that IBM can electronically distribute your device driver for you? Listed below are the steps leading from your development to electronic distribution.

  • IHV develops and tests device driver.
  • IHV requests "OS/2 Device Driver Recognition Package" from IBM.
  • IHV completes the following forms included in the package:
    • Application for OS/2 Device Recognition
      • Product information
      • Device driver information
      • Device driver test results
    • Two copies of "Device Driver License Agreement"
  • IHV submits the forms and cover letter to IBM.
  • IBM reviews application and notifies IHV of approval or additional required actions.
  • After approval, IBM signs license agreement, returns a copy to IHV, and arranges for receipt of device driver object code and related machine readable user information (ie. README files, licensing information).
  • If all is satisfactory, IBM places the complete device driver package on:
    • PSPDIST disk
      • IBM internal distribution mechanism
      • Available for posting on IBM supported BBS's worldwide
    • CompuServe
    • Prodigy
    • OS/2 BBS (Austin, TX)
