A panic call is received by one of your support desk staff - your marketing group has to make a critical sales presentation in 20 minutes but the spread sheet they need is on a PC that just died. Or, how about the PC that is holding up the production line for 30 minutes because it is acting 'funny'. Your support staff suspects corrupt files, perhaps an ini file. And, finally, a department manager is complaining because his users require access to features which are only available in the most recent version of an application. The manager wants everyone in his group to get updated versions of the application immediately. Of course, this group is spread around the network and work shifts, different hours, even different days.

These are scenarios that happen to businesses everyday. Corporate America is spending (and wasting) an enormous percentage of their resources, both people and money, dealing wit h the hundreds and thousands of these 'Personal Computers'.

In each case listed above, if you had been operating a Managed Client environment, a user could be ready to go back in action in a mere 27 seconds! In some cases, less than that. (See Managed Client Screen Shots for a detailed description of this process).

The Managed Client is a superior way to deliver applications to users, to manage users, their associated applications and other software, and client systems. An Intel based PC solution, it is a computing environment which includes desktop client images stored on the server.

In a new computing model, the Managed Client applies technology to the point of need. Network management, end user support, and day to day operations can be managed through the server from any authorized workstation, even remote workstations. This provides the support function, the largest expense associated with computing costs, with tremendous flexibility, improving responsiveness while reducing costs.

At the same time, the Managed Client improves the ability of users to access applications, allows for personalized desktops, and improves overall security of the end user workstation. The Managed Client also delivers a more responsive workstation because downtime is virtually eliminated. The downtime which cannot be eliminated can be minimized.

Managed Client Entry

Managed Client Entry includes product packaging directed at small and home office businesses. Most desktop management products and services are too costly for small organizations. As a result, their computing environment is less than it could be and their ability to support business computing suffers. Managed Client Entry Products place WiseManager(r), WiseServer(tm), and WiseClient(tm) applications within the reach of these organizations and the service providers who support them.

Now, for the same costs as most peer services networks, these organizations can take advantage of a robust intranet LAN, ready for Internet and e-commerce opportunities. And the reliability, manageability, and availability of applications and data cannot be matched by traditional LANs and PCs.

This is special pricing and packaging which limits the Managed Client environment to five (5) Managed Clients. However, an upgrade path to Managed Client Small and Medium Business (SMB), which supports up to 64 Managed Clients, is available.

Managed Client Small and Medium Business

Managed Client(r) Small and Medium Business (SMB) Products.

The Managed Client SMB packaging supports organizations which range from a few workstations up to maximum of 64 Managed Clients. The products include WiseManager(r) with support for one domain, two WiseServers(tm), up to 64 WiseClients(tm) running on Managed Clients.

Managed Client Enterprise

The Managed Client Enterprise product family supports organizations of any size. A Wide Area Network comprised of tens of thousands of workstations can be easily supported. An almost unlimited number of domains and servers are also supported. Considering the nature of this environment, important features has been added. For example, the ability to create folders of groups of workstations and deploy software across that group of users with one drag and drop operation. This feature alone justifies this product's position in the enterprise.

Managed Client User Packs

A complete, networked client, ready for use. Available as a base application platform and with general office application support.

Managed Server Hardware

Managed Client Systems are installed and customized on IBM Netfinity Servers, recognized for reliability and stability, and the IBM 7588 when CTI card support is required.
