Objective

This five day workshop will enable programmers from PCMCIA peripheral manufacturers to write a Client Physical Device Driver (PDD); this enables the logical support of a particular type of peripheral (such as hard disks, network adapter, RAM, modems, etc.).

This workshop will identify the protocol on how to implement a client PDD in order to provide a uniform interface to OS/2 PCMCIA support clients. Installation and debug techniques will also be covered. The OS/2 Developer Connection Device Driver Kit (Devcon-DDK) will be used extensively in order to build and test the PCMCIA driver.

Target Audience

Programmers who code device drivers for PCMCIA peripherals.
