Problem

How to connect to a Novell network.

Solution

Get the Novell requester from Novell (http://netwire.novell.com/home/client/os2/os2.htm). Warp Connect includes the requester. If you intend to use TCP/IP, you must use a NDIS driver.

Problem

Can not connect to the Novell Network when installing Warp Connect.

Solution

Install Warp with no network support, then install the Novell requester separately.

Problem

Can not use the TCP/IP protocol.
Can not get the Internet programs to connect.

Solution

You must use a NDIS driver, not the ODI driver.

Problem

The icons for the programs on the Novell network get replaced by a "broken link" icon, and the DOS settings are replaced by the default ones.

Solution

Create a "Program Object" using the "Templates" folder, and assign the program on the network to that program object, then copy the Icon to your local disk, and use that icon.

Problem

How to login the my Novell Network and to map the network drives automatically when the computer boots?

Solution

Start the program NWTOOLS.EXE that came with the Novell requester and map the network drives as desired and save the settings. Modify (or create if needed) the file STARTUP.CMD and add the line: "c:\netware\nwtools c:\netware\YourFile.nws autoexit" where YourFile is the name of the file where you saved your mapping with NWTOOLS. Finally, remove the word "CONNECTIONS" after the line "AUTOSTART" in the CONFIG.SYS file.
