Abstract

This course refines basic skills and provides advanced knowledge and techniques for using OS/2 Warp Server and OS/2 Warp Server Advanced. You will be provided with the information necessary to fully plan and support OS/2 Warp Server environments for OS/2, DOS LAN services and Windows users. You will also be prepared to support other LAN Administrators in their enterprise who have basic skills.

After completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Use many of the advanced features provided by OS/2 Warp Server
  • Describe the four types of remote LAN Access environments supported by Remote Access Services
  • Compare technical features of File Allocation Table (FAT), High Performance File System (HPFS), and 386 HPFS
  • Describe the SystemView model and its implementation in OS/2 Warp Server
  • Identify the basic functions provided by TCP/IP Services and how to install and configure them
  • Describe how to install, configure and tune Adapter and Protocol Services in order to support OS/2 Warp Server components.
  • Configure complex Network Services such as Replication and Remote IPL
  • Assign parameters for adequate capacity and basic tuning

Audience

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, you should be able to perform all the skills taught in the prerequisite course OS/2 Warp Server Administration Workshop I (WS730E).
