Setup & Installation / Re: Ghostscript error
« on: May 25, 2017, 04:50:40 pm »
Thanks, Andy, that was the case. A new version of gsdll2.dll had been installed in x:\usr\lib and after renaming that one PMPDF works fine.

Setup & Installation / Ghostscript error
« on: May 25, 2017, 01:08:03 am »
Hi,

I have for years used PMPDF and GhostScript 9.04 (or earlier versions) and setting it up on various eCS system without any problems.
Now I just tried to make it work under ArcaOS, installing the same way as before, but get this error when trying to create a pdf:

Error in GhostScript processing, code:255 -

(I've not installed using yum/rpm and I have not set up any ecups on this system.)

Anyone else experienced this?

Yes, you'll find "ArcaOS50_InstallationGuide.pdf" in the root of the installation dvd.

Programming / Re: Vx-rexx container
« on: December 12, 2016, 12:50:58 pm »
Good help from LesK (comp.lang.rexx) solved the problem;

sum = 0

and adding in the loop

parse var data.7
sum = sum + data.7

results in correct output.

Programming / Vx-rexx container
« on: December 11, 2016, 09:14:29 pm »
I have a container object with several columns and I need to sum the values of one column for displaying the sum in
a field outside the container, each time a record is entered.

ok = VRMethod( "QRY_AVR", "MoveFirst" )
do while( ok = 1 )
    call VRMethod "QRY_AVR", "RowData", "data."
    str = ""
    do i = 1 to data.0
        str = str data.i
    end
    say str
    ok = VRMethod( "QRY_AVR", "MoveNext" )
end

With 2 records the output of say is (from data.1 incl. data.7):

 555 1230 1111 TEST1 1.0  10500 35880
 555 1230 8951 TEST2 1.0  -3456 -8951

The last column, data.7, contains the numbers I need the sum of.
Now the problem is how to make the sum of data.7 and make it available for displaying in a field.

Ideas are welcome and appreciated.

Applications / Re: OpenOffice and email

Thanks Dave,  I didn't have the "Internet Application Integration" installed on this system, but I should of course have thought
about the ini-file settings.

The settings for "E-mail program" in OpenOffice 4.1.1 points to seamonkey.exe (which is correct) but when sending a mail it opens Thunderbird,
anyone else seen this and know the solution?

It's not part of the VisPro/Rexx, which I bought a license for years ago, but I believe this addon package was released by
Hockware. Free or not, I'd be happy to get a copy.

Does anyone know where I can obtain/purchase a copy of VisPro/REXX Data Entry Object Pack?

Have another type of txt-files that I regurarly work with. Importing them with DBE, fixed lenght  fields, is easy enough, but for some unknown reason it  fails to import all the amounts to the table. Only one or two amounts are lost  when importing files that have up to approx 300 lines.
Don't know if it's a bug in DBE, but at least importing csv-files works correctly.

I'm in the process of "absorbing" the script you made for the first scenario and I think that script will be easier to understand if I start with a simpler script for what I describe in the attached info.txt

Thanks a lot for the explanation, it really helps for understanding the script.

Great, it seems to work fine.

One little thing, DBExpert claimed it couldn't open the file for importing to a table, even though I saw that the file was created and existed in the right place. Turned out that the filename  of the output file started with an empty space, " outfile.txt" instead of "outfile.txt".

Thanks, Jan-Erik.
Attached is the second file where I've also added "Customer Three" and four item lines.
Will try your code asap.
