High Martin,

First check your webcam is working.
Try this for video
webcam /m/s |ffprobe -v error -show_entries stream=width,height -of default=noprint_wrappers=1:nokey=0 -i -
You should get default video size if it is working or an error message
If mjpeg isn't working ! try yuyv
webcam /u/s |ffprobe -v error -show_entries stream=width,height -of default=noprint_wrappers=1:nokey=0 -i -

Try this for audio
(from your output, my be you'll have 4 supported sample rate)
webcam /a24000 |ffprobe -v error -show_streams \PIPE\Webcam\Audio |more
You'll find in it 24000 or if not supporting, default supported sample rate is provided into the displayed messages
note: |more for better review messages or you can route them into a text file

You can test other sample rate to find out which ones are supported
Here, same sample rates you can try:
8000  11025 16000 24000 32000 22050 44100 48000

If you get information in both cases, than your webcam works.
Then, after starting webcam /a24000, run ffmpeg -y -i \PIPE\Webcam\Audio -c:a copy audio.wav

Hi Wim

This is what I get:

webcam.exe /a24000:
Code: [Select]
[X:\HOME\DOWNLOADS\WEBCAM00-20210120]webcam.exe /a24000
started.
format:mjpg
 acquire webcam
 set configuration
 negotiate video format
/a server (audio) On-Line.
 obtain video format
 commit video format
 set video alt interface
 set audio frequency
 starting iso video
 set audio mike volume
 set audio alt interface
 starting iso audio
[00000057]
obtain audio error.

Hi Martin, thank you for testing.  The [00000057] error code means parameter error and it occurs because webcam.exe uses the wrong isochronous frame length for audio. I have to correct that. This error has to be corrected first so do not spend more time in trying to get it working for audio.

Wim

P.S. Added: I think I got it fixed. Use the attached Webcam00-20210214.zip and see what does.

Hi Igor,

Let me try. I have some questions for you to answer first...

1. Are you using ArcaOS or eComStation or what? Which version?
2. Are you using ArcaOS or Lars Erdmann drivers? Which version?
3. Is this camera the only camera connected to your system?
4. Does your laptop have a builtin camera? Is it enabled in the bios?
5  What version of webcam.exe are you using?

Following Remy's suggestion /dN you select the proper camera to be used.
So "webcam /d09DA:2695:0100 /a" forces to use the proper camera.

Following Remy's suggestion /iN you reduce video bandwidth.
So "webcam /d09DA:2695:0100 /a /i1 uses less video bandwidth.

Hi Wim,
1. I use ArcaOS 5.0.7
2. ArcaOS drivers 12.11
3. Is this the only camera in USB interface
4. This is desktop computer
5  W.M.Brul:00.20210214
Specify on the command line "/d09DA:2695:0100" leads to this error:
Code: [Select]
started.
format:yuyv
 acquire webcam
 set configuration
 negotiate video format
 obtain video format
 commit video format
 set video alt interface
[0000804C]
obtain video error.

At the same time, the launch of the program with the "webcam /a /n" parameters allows you to view the video from the camera.

Hallo Igor,

I think I know now where the problem is. It is in the scanning of the usb descriptors.  Please send me the "lsusb -d 09da:2695 -v" report of your camera.

Hi Wim,

See attache.
Thank you Igor. Try the attached. This patched version enables audio for your A4tech FHD 1080P PC Camera only. It should not be used with any other webcam.

Hi Wim,

I tested this version.
The first:
Code: [Select]
start webcam /a /n
started.
format:yuyv
 acquire webcam
 set configuration
 negotiate video format
/a server (audio) On-Line.
 obtain video format
 commit video format
 set video alt interface
[0000804C]
obtain video error.
/n server (video) On-Line.
 set audio frequency
 set audio mike volume
[00008040]
obtain audio error.
The second and beyond:
Code: [Select]
start webcam /a /n
started.
format:yuyv
 acquire webcam
 set configuration
 negotiate video format
/a server (audio) On-Line.
 obtain video format
 commit video format
 set video alt interface
/n server (video) On-Line.
 set audio frequency
 starting iso video
 set audio mike volume
[00008040]
obtain audio error.

Hi Wim,

There is an assumption that the program lacks delays. Or the device cannot be immediately connected by the program. Because after initializing the device (after connecting to the connector), it does not work. When restarted, the video works, but the sound also does not connect. I assume that somewhere a waiting cycle is required or a retry of the connection is required.

You may be right about this. But I noticed that - set audio mike volume - resulted in error [00008040] which I think needs to be resolved first.
So this time I disabled that function to see if that makes a difference. Hopefully both video and audio streaming start working that way.
